SequoiaBET
I thought this might be an Akro, but it is more complicated than that. To start, the frosted finish is unlike any Akros I have. Then when I looked at it closely, I think there are 2 separate corkscrews, each starting at an opposite pole and spiraling in opposite directions. The last picture shows where the top cork trails into the lower one. It also shows where the lower cork tail ends as a thin line barely separated from the main mass of the lower cork (at about 4pm in the pic). This makes me think it's hand made. There is a possible pinched or crease pontil at one pole as seen in pic 5. So I'm thinking it may be a Yasuda?

SequoiaBET
Also a possibility with the crease pontil. I have so few MFC's for comparison.

SequoiaBET
Yes, forgot to post the size. It's 2/3 (.66) inch. No UV.
akroorka
I am not too good on pre MFC---but this is what I think. The collectors of these are Phasing out of the marble collecting world and I would be Honered if a collector of these spoke up here. aussie
I have one the same glass in with my Japanese transitionals (not necessarily Yasuda) Japanese transitionals can range from 5/8 to 1 inch. @shiroaiko What do you think Aiko? 2
shiroaiko
Hi, @aussie😃 The last picture shows a diminishing hand gathered tail. I'd say it is a transitional, possibly Japanese, but the rough surface makes the pontil hard to read. My largest transitionals are just over 1 inch, around 27-8 mm. 1
aussie
@shiroaiko The one I have similar to this is 17mm with a short straight line cut off instead of the messy spider leg crease.
SequoiaBET
Thanks folks! I appreciate all of you helping out with trying to ID this mib. I would say the pontil on mine also has a short clean crease cut off line as well. But as noted, it is very hard to see even in hand. A final question- why the more frosted finish to this marble? Was it made that way or is it the result of damage? I think this on might have been in the dirt for a while as the deeper dings had/have dirt packed in them that even a scrubbing didn't remove. I think I need to soak it for a few hours to see about getting it out. Thanks again!
