SoilworK777
What exactly qualifies a marble to be a ghost marble, swirl or otherwise?
jeeperman
In terms of being specific, I have only heard ghost used for the marble called an Alley Ghost. It is a semi transpearent marble with ghost like filliments. Blue base and orange swirls. The fillements can vary from leaving clear areas to fully filling the marble and the swirl can vary in browns, oranges to reds. Having said that I have heard ghost used to describe filliments that float lightly through the marble, wispy and very light. In this case only used to describe a look, but not to decribe a type or specific marble. Here are some Alley Ghosts....

SoilworK777
Thank you, I appreciate the info. I have a Vitro (I think) that appears to be opaque, but when I shine a light through the back it has an amber base. I didn't know whether or not "ghost" was a broad term. MC Marbles
I have a Vitro (I think) that appears to be opaque Yes it looks like a Vitro. I would call it a Conqueror type & not a ghost
ann
I have something I think of as a ghost corkscrew -- it looks clear with just a corkscrew "disturbance" in the glass until you hit it with a UV light, when the cork glows an outrageous radioactive lime green . . . sissydear
Had a handmade ghost mica once. It looked like mica on the outside, but when backlighted, It had a mica ghost core
BIBLEfreak
What exactly qualifies a marble to be a ghost marble, swirl or otherwise? First the marble has to die. Then is has to be certified to have haunted at least two major dumping sites, along with measurable poltergeist activity.
