  1. What catches my eye is "Returns Not Accepted".
  2. Thank you Rylee. It was good to meet you and your family. Do you play marbles? We're planning a marble tournament for the April show. Edna
  3. Happy Birthday! And many more to come. Hope you got a few marbles to make your day better.
  4. bumping this up. Rylee missed it yesterday. Edna
  5. Rylee, here are the Peltier Peerless Patches that will have the comic marbles on them. Here are some examples of comic marbles in what looks like the original box this box is a reproduction that is no longer available. The plates from the original box were used to recently (last15- 20 years) make these boxes. The plates were returned to the owner and they were destroyed so that it won't happen again. This box is stamped "reproduction" inside the box. Other than that, it could pass for the real thing. Expect to pay more for the colored marbles, some are more rare than others. Hope this helps you in your search.
  6. Lynn Johnson's Berry Pinks - 3 kinds, white base, blue base, and clear base My clear based Berry Pink My white based Berry Pink. I bought this one from Jim Garber and the one on the right, Jim believes was made at the same time as the Berry Pink marbles..
  7. I've been told Berry Pink gave them away to children as he traveled around promoting marbles and Marble King.
  8. And you had one of the best runs ever. I love the glass you guys used. Boyce stayed over for ours and Weldon and I spent a lot of time with him. You guys got a lot more color than we did. And pattern too. Dave told me how much you were up and down the ladder. Steph emailed me this afternoon and told me I had posted it on her link and it was there. I thought I might have started a war and got deleted. LOL!
  9. I posted this before right here and somehow it's gone. I wonder if it caused a storm and had to be taken down? What I said before was that we used yellow, orange, and red base glass. We also used chemicals added to the batch of glass. the chemicals caused the blush. We got oxblood in there because of adding to the tank of glass. We didn't get much use of the red glass. We had a problem. The glass clogged up in the oriface and wasn't flowing properly. We had to shut down. This was our first run and a lot has been learned since. There is no comparison when looking at those marbles and the ones coming out now as Hillbilly Magic and Indian Summer.
  10. Rylee, there's a person in the TMCI who does polishing and i bet he would do a final polish for you.
  11. We used chemicals. We had yellow, orange, and red base glass and chemicals to get that blush and help change the glass in the tank from yellow to orange to red. Didn't use much of the red. Had an unfortunate clogging and had to stop the rollers and plug the tank.
  12. There is someone who comes here that has the largest collection of Alley animals that I've ever seen. He would know for sure if that Boston Terrier was Alley. Bill?
  13. Your friend came to the Texas show. She bought a lot of marbles and took a picture of the two of us standing together.
  14. Rylie keep looking. They are there now and then. This is Edna Eaton. I know you don't me as sissydear.
  15. Rich, the sulfide works if it's made of ceramic slip or clay. I used to make ceramic slip figures and Ray Laubs would make sulfides out of them. Ray used ceramic clay and he says that works better. You can't use porcelain or stoneware figures.
  16. I have more that I had posted before. i have one made by Paul Moore who died last year and I have 3 made by Malcom Strong. One is the large one used in Tennessee Square. it's an inch and a quarter and the other two are flints in the neighborhood of 3/4 inch. When the marbles are specially made for a player, they are made to the size specified by the player. There is a range that they have to fall between. Molly shoots with a smaller marble than her husband Jeff, but the size is not far off.
  17. Molly Reecer Kimmell gave me the next two marbles. They are both flints made by people who have passed on. This one is a Bud Garrett flint. Mr. Garrett made his own marbles. This one is a Dumas Walker flint. All of the marbles shown in this post are in the neighborhood of 3/4 inch.
  18. Timmy Walden marbles Timmy made these marbles and i watched some of them being ground. The pink started as a block of Burmese glass and became a marble. The rest are flints. Timmy Walden making a marble.
  19. Paul Davis marble made from petrified wood Paul Davis flints and agates Paul Davis making a flint marble. He and Timmy Walden set up at Standing Stone and made marbles while people watched. He made this one for me at his home.
  20. Black Skin Indian Agate by Matthew de Graffenreid of Utah Brazilian Agate - de Graffenreid South Dakota Prairie Agate Triple Agate - made by de Graffenreid by cementing 3 different agates together.
  21. Thank you Mike, that clears up a bunch for me. I once saw a golden rebel that had aventurine in the black and in the red. I see how that happened now.
