  1. From my akro book. The Uniques look like tri-colors? according to Alan, hero’s and uniques were the early patch marbles from the 20’s. Prefreeze.
  2. Please show a few pics from the books.
  3. “Uniques are patches that have an opaque white base with a wispy brushed brown patch covering about one third of the marble, with a small space on the patch that allows the underlying white to show. The Hero is the same type of marble but lacks the space. Both of these are pre-"Freese improvement" marbles. Collectively, these two types are often known as "birds," because when viewed from one angle the patches have a shape suggestive of the breast and head of a songbird. "Grebes" have a reddish orange to orange brown patch; "brown thrashers" have a dark brownish red patch; "golden tawnies" have a yellowish orange to orangish brown patch; and "rainbows" have all the colors seen on the previous three varieties.”
  4. I played tennis as a teenager. We had a community court, and had regular annual tournaments. I played doubles with a neighbor girl and we won the tournament against all the parents. First prize was a weekend bag. I asked her where she wanted to go, her mom came unglued, being a devout Christian. There were at least 60 people there.
  5. I was a printing plant designer. Used to walk the plants in a suit. Got home and realized I had ink on my suit and shoes. Wife liked to kill me for staining the carpet. Divorced her…
  6. “Uni” is the worst sushi. Got my son to try it, he almost barfed in the restaurant. I fell off my chair laughing.
  7. Found a jar of these maybe 10 years ago. Sold on eBay for $3 each.
  8. Thanks. I looked up marbleAlans page and he talked about uniques and colors variations. The “pinhole” he mentioned is present on a few of them. There is no pic of a unique, haven’t found a pic online.
  9. This was in the same group as the AKROs I just posted for ID.
  10. Kind of a helmet design?
  11. I like the darker blue more than the lighter green examples.
  12. 5/8” Oxblood snake with lots of bubbles (and some hits)
  13. A striped CAC, almost coral? Looking more orangish?
  14. Thanks! Haven’t seen or heard of it before.
