Found some… and some black corks as well. I had a lot of these boxes at local antique shows for $25/box, no takers

I seem to remember someone’s girlfriend stole an expensive marble (MK watermelon?) and tried to sell it 3 booths down. The buyer recognized it and she got busted…

That was where we stayed as well. Work has pretty well fried my brain. I have done energy audits on over 400 million SF of commercial properties nationwide since then. My collecting is the only thing that can clear my thoughts and relieve my stress.

The show was great fun, my first outing since I got divorced. I sold you a box of Vitro No. 0 game marbles there. Don’t the pics anymore, my old PC bit the dust. I’m not sure where Joe got the cullet from, he was working in Atlanta, had just starting out making marbles. We teamed up online, I flew in to Atlanta and we drove up in a van he had rented. Stopped at the Blenko factory and I bought a billet of sea green glass for him to work with. He made a big clearie for me from it, a prize piece. Flights got screwed up and I hitched a ride with someone from the show up to Columbus to fly home. I have tried several times to get there for a show but the work thing never allowed it to happen. Someday…

They present very well but I couldn’t stand it. I need to hold and caress my marbles🤣🤣🤣 my wall cases have plexiglas slides for earthquake protection (PNW), and usually get into them every day.

Technically AKRO… bought from Joe when we had a booth at the 08 Sistersville show. there was an older guy at the show selling his homemade cherry wine for $3 a bottle out of his trunk, thinking his name was Sonny??

AKRO or Masters? Been in the AKRO stash. 1st marble in 2 pics, 2nd in the last 3. this is in reference to the opaque sparkler mibs.

Black on green. Mint is from Dani at a local show, beater was from a $5 jar.

Off the top of my head, I’ve got 4 or that that also have a stripe of black. Will let you if I find any🤔

The Seattle area has a lot of good people collecting marbles, I hope he finds out who the thief is.

I recently visited a local antique store in Maltby, WA that I have bought marbles, and other items, from for years. He used to keep the marbles in a case in the back room, opening it for regulars to look at. He had a lot of older mibs in bags, pricing them per mib. Recently he decided to change things around, and move the marbles up front. He found a bunch of empty bags stuffed under the case, indicating people he trusted had been stealing from him. I was crushed, as he had no idea who was doing it, and suspected all of us. My wife and I have always been scrupulously honest in dealing with him on all purchases. he bagged all of them together in $10 bags, over 100 bags in total. All sealed, so no individual inspection possible. Very sad…

I stopped in a local antique store today and went thru a booths marble box. Been looking in it for 4 years on a regular basis, $1/mib. Found a MK hybrid that matched a set of 5 I found locally a few years back. What are the odds? I took it to the cashier and excitedly, with a stupid grin, told her her “I found one of my marbles”, she lost it. Definitely made both our day.

I am at the point where I will buy a jar of marbles just to get a single keeper, then give the jar back to the seller. I have too many commons and contemps already in jars. It makes me happy, and the seller is thrilled to be able to resell the jar👍👍👍
