My go-to guy is Joe Schlemmer, AKA Madmanmarbles. http://www.joemarbles.com/1Marble Picture Pages/23Contemporary/Joe Schlemmer/Joe Schlemmer 001/1 Joe Schlemmer Large Pages/Joe Schlemmer 1-01.htm We met through the boards and joined up, shared travel expenses on a trip to sistersville in 2008 when he was in Atlanta. We both had a great time, even stopped in the Blenko factory in Milton, WV. My wife and I are thinking about doing it again in 2019.

That depends on your free time, and funds. Also how many antique stores are along the wayđ¤. getting started will leave you shaking your head 10years later when you look back and wonder why you bought all those common marbles. i sold 2 5 gallon buckets a few years back at a local show to someone looking to occupy their time and learn the hobby.

How do i positively identify Oxblood?

I Also found an example in green/white last month. AKRO examples have 10 panels. There are 8 panel, and round examples by others, usually Houze. -

Slingshot ammo? back in the 60âs we used to take an old steel sprinkler head with a 5/8â ID steel pipe nipple on it and make a marble shooter. Slide a firecracker down the tube with the fuse out the sprinkler outlet. Insert marble, light fuse, and boom! This will break windows and put holes in doors (yes, personal knowledge) so treat it like a loaded gunđ¤

This is a hard one to photograph, there is a definite single straight seam. dont remember seeing such construction by Vacor? may need to take it to the next local show. thanks Steph

Haha.... any movement on that? Asian works for me, putting it all out at a local antique store. Start high and discount from there. Their commision/rent is lower than eBay fees.

These look like they were made by Peltier, kind of a "ranbow" pattern. Any help is appreciated. I finally decided to start emptying out the foot locker(s) and de-clutter some.

Guess I need to get out more..... thanks!

Small bag, the green/black cork drew my attention. Looks to be a dug example? I have a similar example I bought from Zaboo a few years back at a show, but the green in that is translucent. this is opaque. How common is this color-combo?

I found another local listing on craigslist looking for old marbles. I sent a picture of a jar of old handcut agates I had out of curiouslty. The response was "AKRO or ALLIE" agates.... after a few text exchanges i was apparently blocked from further contact. i ran ads on craigslist for years looking for certain collectibles, only had one good marble find in 10 years.

I do have two local shops whose owners have collections, and keep promising to let me see them...20 years and waiting. maybe somedayđ´

I always ask, every garage sale and antique store or show. The most frustrating responses? 1. I had a large group that sold yesterday. 2. I have some at home, will bring them in next week. And you are passing through town. I did find this crazy-cool 3-ribbon snake recently in a lot I bought off Craigslist. Never seen another like it. There were also 20 nice American-made, mostly AKRO with 5 Popeyes. Plus 33 german swirls, ~1.5" down to peewee onionskins.

Looking at marblalanâs work, the thought was either CAC or Canadian. My first thought was MFC.

I need to re-introduce myself, having been off the board for over 5 years. Didn't realize it had been that long. Stil hanging out in the PNW, chasing mibs when time and money permits. Snagged a nice batch this past weekend, with one or two head-scratchers. will post pics soon.

We are stuck on the wrong side... I wish we could get there!!!! Maybe next year.
