  1. These look like they were made by Peltier, kind of a "ranbow" pattern. Any help is appreciated. I finally decided to start emptying out the foot locker(s) and de-clutter some.
  2. Guess I need to get out more..... thanks!
  3. Small bag, the green/black cork drew my attention. Looks to be a dug example? I have a similar example I bought from Zaboo a few years back at a show, but the green in that is translucent. this is opaque. How common is this color-combo?
  4. I found another local listing on craigslist looking for old marbles. I sent a picture of a jar of old handcut agates I had out of curiouslty. The response was "AKRO or ALLIE" agates.... after a few text exchanges i was apparently blocked from further contact. i ran ads on craigslist for years looking for certain collectibles, only had one good marble find in 10 years.
  5. I do have two local shops whose owners have collections, and keep promising to let me see them...20 years and waiting. maybe someday😴
  6. I always ask, every garage sale and antique store or show. The most frustrating responses? 1. I had a large group that sold yesterday. 2. I have some at home, will bring them in next week. And you are passing through town. I did find this crazy-cool 3-ribbon snake recently in a lot I bought off Craigslist. Never seen another like it. There were also 20 nice American-made, mostly AKRO with 5 Popeyes. Plus 33 german swirls, ~1.5" down to peewee onionskins.
  7. Looking at marblalan’s work, the thought was either CAC or Canadian. My first thought was MFC.
  8. this is 13/16" with a nice "9" swirl of oxblood(ish) red, and a pinched pontil.
  9. I need to re-introduce myself, having been off the board for over 5 years. Didn't realize it had been that long. Stil hanging out in the PNW, chasing mibs when time and money permits. Snagged a nice batch this past weekend, with one or two head-scratchers. will post pics soon.
  10. We are stuck on the wrong side... I wish we could get there!!!! Maybe next year.
  11. Alan said it was a combination of things: sloppy pontil faceting, glass colors, glass quality... Add them all up and it spells fake.
  12. DRUM ROLL>>>>>>>>>>>> MARBLEALAN SAYS------- !!!!!!FAKE!!!!!!!! Someone went to great lengths to make this marble look old. Fortunately I bought it as a contemporary, so everyone who has read or will read this post only owes me $0.10 for the education...LOL (I know the guy who sold it to me, said it came with a bunch of old suphide paperweights his mother still has. Will need to dig onto that a littler deeper.) Everyone should be on the lookout, hopefully no more will surface.
  13. Rich, do you ever sell your remelts? Unless you etch your initials on it, it will be subject to abuse by unscrupulous people. Even then they can simply polish them out and sell them as vintage to amatuers. That hurts the entire marble collecting industry. I have to agree with Galen on this one....
  14. HAHA!!! Let's see, one dollar sign for each exclamation mark...that equals...????
  15. How rare is a 5/8" black/brown swirl on white base? Hard to photo but two distinct colors.
  16. Good to hear from you! I was hoping you would poke your head out and add your 2 cents worth...always appreciated! HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!!!
  17. Cool...forgot their timeline included barcodes....
  18. Figured as much but at $3/bag, couldn't pass it up. My knowledge base is skimpy on bags...LOL
  19. Just picked up two bags of 19-count with the CE Bogard label stapled over the original Heaton label. Assuming during the 1971 transition?   Any rarity? Both cats and wire pulls.
  20. Pontil is ground-faceted. Hard to photo. Marblealan said he needed to see it in hand; He has never seen anything like it before. That could be good, or bad...LOL I am not a handmade-type guy, prefer american machine-mades but i coudn't pass it up as a gamble. I'll be sure to post the results... Any bets????? LOL
  21. Which Alan are you thinking? I am sending it to Alan Basinet, Marblealan, for identification. If it is a ltrue 1800's confetti/cloud hybrid, it can be very valuable as is.(I hope... )
