The last site of Alley production was in St. Mary's WV. I think they operated there for about 10 years prior to closing in the late 1940s. Sistersville was Alleys second site. It operated for about 2 years in the early 1930s.

A bit of an oddball, sort of looks like a double ingot, not a strong Pelt vibe though, more like Alley.

From this view it looks like it has some clear in it?

It might be, but from this one view, I wouldn't count on it. As an aside, I don't think Pelt collectors today would call that color combination a John Deere.

Well, if you think it's a marble - yes. If you think it's a hand-made - no. 😉 I assume you're talking about the green base - kinda hard to tell what it is from the single view, what are you thinking? The other marbles look unremarkable to me.

You should check the greens for AV - otherwise, it might slip by.

Nice ones, the black-faces are a bit harder to find.

And he is not wrong. Transitionals are hand-gathered, cut off, and rounded on a machine, and while the "nine" on this marble is weak, it's definitely there - that's a budding marble collector, for sure!

I'd guess Akro on the blue one, not sure about the other.

I don't think it's Ravenswood.

Yup, Popeyes have clear transparent, wispy white, and usually two colors - like the first one.

I am about five days away from being officially retired, Bruce, and I think I'm already used to it! I'll have plenty to keep me busy around here for a few years, Chuck, and you know I'll be seeing you in Decatur. In about a year, I am going to start paring down my collection - shooting for a top 2,000 or so, because in a couple of years, I hope to be living on a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream in Michigan, and I don't want to move too many marbles!
