  1. Not sure about a name, other than Champion Jr, but that is a great pattern - sorta looks like a mustache. That's a dandy, Bill - pretty unusual, any AV?
  2. I may have kin - 1st marbles in the 3rd and 5th rows. I think the 5th marble in the 4th row is pretty cool too.
  3. I like the oddball stuff and there is plenty of it in this thread! Almost all wee: I figured I had to show you something . . .
  4. Nice Mibber, you're showing us some great marbles! Is that "sulfide" a Wolverine?
  5. Cool marbles! Does the second one have Angel base glass? A different Zebra too - nice!
  6. It's pretty hard to tell from these pics. Can you describe it? It looks brown, blue or red to me . . . ?
  7. Benningtons run the gambit of size- I don't think that's an uncommon one. I think 1/2" or less and over 1" are less common sizes, but I am not entirely sure. Maybe someone else will know.
  8. Akro Moss Agates, IMO, you got 'em!
  9. It's amazing what you find in marble lots. The top right looks like quartz and I would have thought earthenware on a couple in the bottom pic.
  10. This one looks like an Akro Patch, perhaps with very thin oxblood.
  11. I edited my first post. Check it out. You may have some of the other types too.
  12. That is a Vitro Black Line All Red, earlier production than the Vitro All Reds without the black stripes - every marble had red on it, usually 1/2 and 1/2 with another color. The earlier ones had a black line separating the two colors. They are pretty common types. Check out the 3rd rolling pin down: Ron's pic from a different thread. Marbles in the top pin are Blackies and the marbles in the 2nd pin are Whities - all Vitro.
  13. That's does have a really nice pattern on it, and it looks CAC to me too. Not so sure about metallic though, looks a bit more like some sort of impurity to me. And it reminded me of these . . .
  14. I am becoming becoming more interested in stone and earthenware marbles.
  15. Based on colors, I'm leaning toward an Akro Patch too. Basically, Popeye Patches have the same colors as an Akro Popeye but without as much colored glass and no corkscrewing - patch style. It seems this one has an extra color - purple, if my eyes are right. Popeyes usually only have two colors along with the white (in a clear base).
  16. It reminds me a lot of this one: The last time I saw Clyde (RIP) he thought it was a Peltier, so I gave it to him.
  17. Is that one ribbon kind of a pink/purplish color or am I seeing things?

    Help

The reason I asked is because there is such a thing as a red mica marble. Mica looks like little chips of mirror-like metal and I think should be obvious if there is any in there. You have to be careful looking for it though because internal fractures and even reflections from surface damage can give the appearance of mica. In some cases, you might need a very bright light and some magnification to distinguish one from the other.
  19. They sure are . . . Multicolor Swirls.
  20. Yeah, I'd say there is little doubt about it.
  21. It looks like it's in a shadow. I'd need more light to see the colors and take a guess.
