  1. @akroorka That's a dandy Alley, Art. Here's another . . .
  2. Those are some nice ones Charlie but then I'm partial to brown too. Opaque WV swirls are often easier to associate with a particular company, and I enjoy figuring out how to tell them apart and sorting them as best I can. I just suppose that after 25 years or so of collecting them, I've come to accept the limits of my abilities in that regard. Nevertheless, I enjoy a looking at a good vintage marble, regardless of who made it. 🙂
  3. @cheese Jumpin' Jimminy, man - no missing the bling on that one!
  4. Don't get your hopes for a definitive ID of transparent WV Swirls up too high, Charlie. They are the simplest of marbles - the slags of the WV swirl producers, basically, and they are notoriously difficult to ID with high confidence. Sure, there are some like the one you posted above that are much more likely to be from one company than another, but Jackson and every other WV Swirl producer made boxcars full of transparent swirls and many of them simply cannot be reliably attributed to a particular company. This is why, unless they are a particular type that can be reliably attributed to a particular company, or there is something else special about them, they are not highly sought after by collectors. This is not to say that they aren't attractive - I have loads of them that I enjoy looking at but I rarely spend much time trying to figure out who made them because, in the end, they are what they are and who produced them has little or no effect on their collectible or monetary value. I should add, of course, this might just be me. lol
  5. Hah, welcome aboard Ralph - I was just looking at your book last night! lol
  6. Yeah, I know where the pontil is, I just can't see it well enough to tell if it's faceted or melted or what it even looks like, really.
  7. I think it's an Imperial with some "cold" creases and a little damage at one of the cutoffs.
  8. A little hard to see, but fine AV is there - trust me. 😄
  9. @Fire1981 Cool marbles. Do you know what run they're from?
  10. That's an interesting marble, the red "wash" is kind of unusual, at least for me.

    Cooky Cork

Indian Blanket colors are great. This one looks like it might be a dug example.
  12. It looks like a game marble from one of the WV swirl manufacturers . . .
  13. Not sure I'd call it a Cat's Eye but it looks foreign, mostly Asian, to me.
  14. I can't really see the pontil. All of the bubbles have me a little worried though. Could this be one of those Bulgarian's?
  15. I have seen several of these. They are not the hollow steel marbles like those packaged with a lot of the old Wolverine marble toys. They are, basically, ball bearings sold at a premium.
  16. I haven't seen one either. it looks like a retro item you might see at a Cracker Barrel or something.
  17. One of my favorite mementos from Ron . . . Man, I miss that country boy.
  18. @Fire1981 Nice marbles, Rick. That shooter looks like a Moody Blue variant.

    23/32” ID

Looks like a nice Alley to me too.
