  1. Maybe one of those "bird-like" Akro patches gone weird?
  2. Again, pretty sure it's Akro but I'm not sure it's a Popeye Patch, it'd be another rare one.
  3. I do think it's an Akro patch but I'm not sure it's a Popeye Patch. It'd be a rare color combo, for sure.

    5/8 Vitro ?

    Might be Master.

    My Garden

@Melissa It looks like you have a great garden with a really nice variety of plants. Was all or some of it established when you came upon it or is it all your doing?
  6. I think "Popeye" is a collector's name. I don't think the company ever sold them as such. I believe they got their name because of the Popeye the Sailorman packaging Akro put them in, although I am not sure if they were found in other packaging or not.
  7. The idea of relative rarity interests me. How many different color combos have been found in Popeye Patches? @Alan Do you recall what the relative distribution of colors was in the dug horde you mention?

    .62 ID help

Photos appear a little dark but I'm getting a JABO vibe from this one.
  9. A very nice CAC slag, I think. Some might call it a striped transparent.
  10. I would say it qualifies but not a great example.
  11. Good point - seems pretty small for a cullet marble though, at least to me.
  12. That is called a Vitro Jewel Tray. They came with a variety of different types of Vitro marbles.
  13. It sure looks like a Tie Dye, and maybe a Hot Tamale in the group too (yellow on translucent red). Both of those are from 1999.
  14. I can see how that would be fun to open!

    No idea

It's an old stone banded agate, Joep - probably from Germany, mid 1800s to early 1900s. would be my guess.
  16. I was goofing with you, Melissa. All you need to do is look where the "0" on the 1/128th scale up top lines up with the 1/16" scale on the ruler. So you can see, for the Pelt, the "0" lines up between the 13/16" and 14/16", so I would say that one is just shy of 7/8". For the Alley, the "0" lines up between the 15/16" and 1" marks so I would say that one is just shy of 1". Forget about the 1/128" - it's way too precise for marbles. Heck, manufacturers accuracy was barely under 1/16".
  17. That's a very nice group of micas!

    4 swirls

Upper left looks newer to me. Upper right looks Alley. Lower right might be Ravenswood, and lower left might be Heaton.
  19. Nice marbles. The Alley is a fairly common one from St. Mary's. And the Pelt is 109/128" while the Alley is 125/128" 🤣
  20. This one is giving me a more modern vibe . . .
  21. First one's kind odd, doesn't look American to me. And the second does look contemporary - sort of like it was made like a sulfide?
  22. I think Alley is a reasonable guess.

    ID Help

That's a slightly odd Vitro patch, not a Wedding Cake.

    Box ID?

I've never seen anything like it so I am skeptical. There is no line around the inner sides of the box to suggest the marbles have been rolling around in there for decades. Why the holes in the box? And how would the seller know the marbles are Akro?
