Thanks, Art - that marble is from Ron, and it is a dandy.

I think these actually are from the Mylee run. The problem was that I didn't recognize the "Mylee" name. All I remembered was that it was a pre-Joker tank wash. They range in size from 1/2" - 5/8" with most around 9/16" - some have a bit of lutz bling in them too. Turns out, Jake and I were at that run! This photo was taken that weekend outside the Belleville Inn, which is what we used to call Ron's place. I hope they're still hanging together, with brother Billy too - may they all rest in peace. 🙂

I don't think it was from the Mylee run. Let me see what I can dig up - it may take a while.

I would not have expected you to. These things are quite rare and the ones without any added "bling" have fooled far more seasoned collectors.

That is a rare JABO contract marble. I don't remember which run. I'll post a few more a bit later.

That's a really nice marble!

I agree the color scheme is pretty typical but the thing that has me thinking about this one is the lack of a flip-flop in the ribbons and the amount of bright white in that "patch" on one pole. To me, that bright white and how much of it there is looks really different for a typical Peltier Rainbo with this combination of glass. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen many, if any, others quite like it, and I like it better than most.

Bingo! Again, I ask, what's the point? 🤣 Thanks Chad!

I swear Ron Shepherd had a "sinker" with a marble encased in lead - man, I wish I would have taken a picture! One of the craziest things I ever saw. I was like . . . what's the point? lol

Honestly, it's always best to wait and see what others have to say.

I'm torn between Peltier and Kokomo but leaning slightly toward Kokomo - best to wait and see what others have to say.

I think that's a JABO, and I can pretty much guarantee it won't float. 🙂

I do not think this is oxblood. Oxblood usually looks like that on the Akro you just posted. This looks a lot like a Peltier Rainbo, but given the bright white and odd ribbon configuration I think it might be a Kokomo. Does any part of it glow green under UV?

It looks like an Akro Milky Oxblood to me.

Can American Agates get this transparent?

These sat in a leather box on my desk with a bunch of Akros and other marbles for about 25 years to give people something to play with - they were already pretty beat when I put them in there. And in all that time, only a Superman went missing. One of my colleague's young boys was the culprit and I knew it but didn't say anything. He had picked up that marble every time he came in my office for a couple of years before it went MIA. Then one day, about a week after it went missing, he came in looking unusually sullen, pulled it out of his pocket, and produced the cutest heartfelt apology I have ever seen. I talked with him a little about the error of his ways and he left knowing we were still friends. A few weeks later he came back to visit displaying his typical high spirits and went straight for that marble again. It reminded me that in the end these really are just kids toys so I gave it to him.

@Carowill Very nice Pearlized Patch! @Fire1981 Nice Rainbo - i like it when the blue goes a little purple!

I'd say the OP is a Peltier Tiger.

I just want to make sure I understand . . . Are you suggesting the reason your marble is so light is because it was polished? AFAIK, Peltier Chocolate Cows are NLRs so while the base might lighten up a bit with polishing, I wouldn't expect it to go as light as your marble. It has also been established that the OP is not a MK Chocolate Cow - it's a MK Wasp variant. So are you just talking about "chocolate" in a generic sense when you compare your Pelt to the OP Marble king? I agree with Art - your marble just may be tough to categorize. I do not think it fits the Peltier Chocolate Cow definition, unless you really stretch.

Nice marble. What is the base like? Is it a veneered marble, is it translucent, or does it show any opalescence? These are key things I would want to know before taking a stab at categorizing it.
