    Any idea's

I'm leaning Vacor too. It's doesn't look American to me, anyways.
  2. I'd probably call it a banded swirl.
  3. It strikes me as German but it might be CAC. If I saw the the view opposite of your second one I might switch my order. lol
  4. It's a Fruit Salad to me, just a little atypical color-wise.
  5. I agree with Art. Man, Joep, you are going to have fun looking through that horde!
  6. Thank you for responding - I appreciate it!
  7. The top ones look mostly JABO to me. The game marbles look a bit more like Champions but the orange ones might be JABOs too. And like Charlie said, there are two slightly odd Type I Vitro Tiger Eyes in the middle of the group.
  8. At a hair over 1/2", I'd say they are pretty rare, Charlie.
  9. It looks like a fruit salad to me - I think the unusually dark red might be throwing you.
  10. They're great marbles and not easy to find, Tommy. Mine is here in the middle, it's got the same kind of crud in it too . . .
  11. That's a nice little collection. I really like the way marbles look in a tall thin jar. I am going to have to start looking for something like your measuring cylinders but I don't have a lot of luck finding similar things here. Here are a few polished ones in some sort of a glass "cylinder" I found somewhere - seems like a good time to repost it.
  12. Here is one of my favorite Chinas . . .
  13. Wow, sorry I missed this one last week - that's an exceptional marble!
  14. Well that looks like a lot of fun to me. I have a soft spot for clay marbles - glad to see that I'm not the only person who tries to sort them. lol
  15. That's interesting, a photo would be great, if possible, but a description of the piece could be helpful too. I assume it was dug at the CAC factory? How thick was it? Was it smooth and uniform like a piece of pre-worked cane, or was it more like a drawn out piece from a worked one?
  16. AFAIK, true peewee corkscrews are quite rare, even 9/16" corkscrews aren't all that common but they are out there.
  17. I'd be thinking Alley for that one, Charlie - nice marble.
  18. Here's an old thread that some folks might find interesting . . .
  19. Which is more controversial, the idea they were made at Cambridge Glass or the idea they were made from canes? Regardless, I'd be interested to see evidence supporting either of those propositions.
  20. I think these are polymer clay-coated JABOS that were only made for a few years around the turn of the century. Completed eBay auctions suggest the 5-marble boxes sell for around $25. There are a couple of Facebook pages associated with Steve Parent and Claystone Marbles but it looks like they haven't been active lately.
  21. Thanks, Brad, I like it a lot too. It's an old souvenir from Holland . . . Michigan, that is. 🙂
  22. I don't think the Standard Toy Marble Company was one of S.C. Dykes, but I am not sure. As I said earlier, the history/names of his companies is fairly complicated, as is the early history of marble making in Akron more generally. I am not certain which of the companies actually made these but I believe several others adopted his patented "Roller" process. I have always liked them. Here are a few of mine . . .
