  1. I'm sure there's a lot of 'historical coolness' here, but this would be an impressive looking set even without it! ( :
  2. Any way you approach it, the drones look like a total blast! You mentioned a 'job site' of yours earlier. As your attorney, I'll be disappointed in you if this necessary business equipment isn't appropriately 'written-off'. ( :
  3. Galen, you've been checking out Sofia Vergara, haven't you? (From recent 'Modern Family' episode)
  4. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but facebook is the last place you want to post pictures unless you're not concerned about the quality of reproduction. Facebook Image Quality Issues Something to be aware of is that Facebook compresses some images pretty aggressively when you upload and display them. It makes sense–naturally, they want to speed page loads and reduce bandwidth by applying as much compression as they can get away with. I’m not the only one to wish they’d be less aggressive with their compression, but how noticeable it is will depend on whether things like the range of colors in your image and amount of detail in your photo. Facebook never intended to be a high quality archiving service of photos, but rather, photos act as social glue for the social media giant.
  5. Thanks for the request, Jess! It's funny just how much more difficult some marbles are to 'shoot' than others.
  6. It's an Akro 'Cornucopia'. I like the way it looks like an old gramophone when you lay it on its side. ( :
  7. Mixing things up a little here, but why not?
  8. Orange sounds like a good choice. It'll be interesting to me, since I'm not all that crazy about the color, and have seen a lot of marbles I think would be better off without it. Road Dog's mib is real nice, though. The orange looks great paired with the yellow.
  9. I like the part where the sheep and elephant are obviously digging for marbles. And right near the end that's certainly a 'purr' to be reckoned with!
  10. Only the toughest 'swimmers' reach their goal and fertilize the marble 'eggs'. And that's where shooters and boulders come from!

  12. The overall feeling of the last post probably would have been clearer if I'd pointed out that I had to 'look up' the word 'cerise'. Didn't have a clue.
  13. Seriously? Cerise? With your stellar reputation, there's no doubt that you're adding a good point to this conversation. But the 'animal' half of your audience won't understand it. I have no idea why we guys are incapable of expanding our ideas about colors. And although it's very important to me for the purpose of printing photos, to this day I still don't have the slightest idea how to pronounce 'cyan'. D'oh! ( :
  14. The Berry Pink story sounds good. Thanks. Did he follow up on this info and 'push' red marbles? Great marble, Darla! Please send it to me so I can examine it more thoroughly. I promise I won't forget to send it back!
  15. Ha! Jess, you know your capital cities! I don't know anything about 'tealish' because I'm a traditional hairy sweaty guy. But that Akro blue has always been a favorite, and I think black 'sets it off' better than anything else.
  16. Gotta like 'em! And all the other red and 'with red' marbles here, so thanks to everyone for their contributions! ( : In one sense I'm thinking that we really do 'gotta'. Having a vague recollection of an explanation about red marbles statistically being considered the most attractive by most people. Thinking it might have been in a manufacturer's description intended for commercial marble sellers, but I'm not sure. Maybe Steph remembers? Jess, I really liked your new marble with that beautiful Akro blue color. Also like your avatar photo. Any chance of a full size shot of that? If you want to wait until blue's the color of the month, that's okay!
  17. Under current conditions, you're going to be in worse shape than Ann if you step in a pile of the 'stuff' we were talking about!
  18. Lloyd, the book does look like it could be a fun thing to have. And also, like the seller describes it, "comprehensive". Insects? Think I might need my kneepads and reading-glasses for those! ( : And Ann, I'm sure you'll want to make sure that your book is equally 'thorough'. So don't hesitate to return it if it fails to give adequate information about "droppings"!
