  1. Hey, Mike! Is the Rebel shooter still for sale? When I click on the original link I don't see it, but when I click on 'recently viewed links' it looks like it was re-listed. Thanks, Bob
  2. What a great group! Really like the superman colors, and surprised how terrific those pink and purples are. Wouldn't expect to like them so much. And all the others are impressive too. No weak spots in this run! ( :
  3. These and the things you showed in a recent post are amazing. I actually want to say that they're 'super-cosmic', but I'm unfortunately too old to use terms like that without sounding like an idiot. But I'll continue anyway, and say that these designs are really exciting, and give me a graphic gut feeling of how time and space flow through the universe. Boy, that sounded pretty weird, didn't it? But the fact that I meant it is making me wonder about all the 'morons' I've heard 'seriously' discussing art. Maybe some of these pretentious idiots were actually seeing things I wasn't. Huh! ( :
  4. I'm kind of feeling like an old frt now, since it just struck me as really strange that people don't refer to a piece of music anymore unless there's video attached. I don't mean 'strange' in a bad way. Just strange for me. ( :
  5. Does it look like a Jabo? I haven't said anything, since my knowledge about Jabos is pretty limited compared to our friends who are 'serious' about them. But I just don't get any Jabo feeling at all from this one. It's a heck of a marble though! ( :
  6. Similar 'living conditions' here, Rich! It's the kind of thing that slowly eats at you even when you're not aware of it. Wishing you the best with this and everything else! Bob

Sounds like you've 'been there and back'! What's up with the toast? And is that some kind of bacon on the top? Going to jump across two ponds now (Dang it! Would have been easier the other way!) and show you one of my pseudo-Asian creations. This is normal sausage meat with garlic and onions. A little ginger is an alternating option. Fish sauce, chili pepper, and lime juice finish the deal. With a few peanuts on the top, which are pretty good whether you cook them in or add them at the last minute. ( :

Sounds pretty awesome. And let me join the group who thinks you have a real cool cat!

Here's a split-second moment from a British sitcom, which shows what someone was eating for breakfast. After studying it for a while, it doesn't look bad. But it's funny how there was an immediate reaction of American "WTH?". Beans and hunks of tomato just seem a bit unusual. And the toast looks good, but I'm not sure exactly what they've done with it. Personally, as much as I like most of our standard breakfast stuff, I'd rather have it at some other point in the day. If I could have my way first thing in the morning, I'd take a more Asian approach and have some noodle soup with crabmeat and a hardboiled egg in it. ( :

Thanks for bringing back the 'regional food' thing! It all looks and sounds great! Wish I could eat the mushrooms, but it's my one food allergy and a real humdinger. What's the new marble? Looks terrific, but can't see it well in the small picture. ( :

Okay, this is a little off-topic, but since 'The Dollar Tree' has already been mentioned, wanted to mention this as well. Lately they've had 64 oz. sizes of 'Awesome' laundry detergent. This has always been great stuff and a real bargain in the usual 48 oz. size. So this is, well, awesome. ( :
  12. What do you know! I located an early public-service film from the guy shown above.

I'm with you! If it's on the menu, I'll most likely get it. Went to a Denny's 20 or so years ago, and was thrilled to see they had eggs Benedict. The rest of it's all a blur, but I remember at one point the manager was explaining to me that it was served with their 'Special Cheese Sauce'.
  14. I don't know what all the fuss is about 'cat videos'. I've seen more than a few products from the independent feline film-maker community, and to be honest, I just don't think that they're all that good at it!

Here's a black olive concept I think the world should know. Tunafish. Sliced or chopped black olives on top take a tunafish sandwich or sub to a whole new level of ecstasy. A little provolone doesn't hurt either. Just thought of something. Was thinking at first that Stacy was worrying too much about whether the eye material would clash taste-wise, since it's such a small part. I was dead wrong. Remembered that eggs Benedict absolutely requires a couple olive slices as a garnish. Doesn't have much taste effect overall. But of course it still needs to blend in well. ( : I
  16. In my extremely humble opinion, Mike's camera is one of the finest pieces of photographic equipment in existence. It should be noted that it's a Leica-tweaked version of Panasonic's Lumix FZ-50. I'm basing my opinion on my own FZ-30, which is basically an FZ-50 with a couple less megapixels. I've used it for 99% of my photos here. All three cameras and their controls are physically identical. Since info about the Leica might be a little harder to find, I'd suggest that Ronnie could check out things like reviews or an owner's manual for the FZ-50. The information would be applicable.

This is from the back of the box. It has a message from Larry, which our fishermen friends here will probably be able to relate to. Personally, I'm stuck with pre-packaged frozen flounder. Also shows the wonderfully simple preparation instructions which were a big selling point to a single slob like me. Find a can of beer and mix it with the batter. Love it.

Okay! Here's the shot I was going to post yesterday. I think it's a lot of fun to try unusual things from the Dollar Tree store. While it may not sound like the most exciting thing in the world, the fun per penny ratio is surprisingly high. Recently got a little can of lobster spread which actually tasted like lobster. Was pretty thrilled. Because of that seafood success, I figured I'd try the scallops you see below. Didn't work out too well. In the box was a sardine-style can which was stuffed with what looked like itty-bitty squid parts. It tasted worse than it looked. Didn't even consider saving it for my occasional cat visitors, since I sort of like them. But hey, you take the good you take the bad... That's what makes it interesting. Looking forward to seeing what 'Larry' can do for fish. ( :

Here are a couple of today's 'Dollar-Tree' food finds. A recent conversation about mac & cheese lead to this. Mentioned that DT has a box of the 'deluxe' variety, and that it's pretty good. 'Deluxe' or a similar word in the mac and cheese business basically means that you're getting pasta and a pouch of cheese glop, as opposed to the traditional packet of powder which requires that you add butter and milk. Personally I love them both. Nothing intrinsically better about the 'deluxe'. But it usually costs a lot more, so worth mentioning as a DT bargain. The original 'food finds' I opened with were something completely different, but since I've already talked endlessly about mac, I'll save them for another post. ( :
  20. Immediately clear from your words that you're horrified about how much I've been 'missing out' on! And the photo confirms that I have. This'll be fun, and I'll let you know. ( :
  21. Haven't looked up 'lenticular clouds' yet. But whatever they are, they're definitely cool looking. ( :
  22. I'm pretty much on the machine-made side. And don't generally care at all for the types of hand-mades shown here. Usually refer to them as "You know, those cappuccino-skin things!" But your jumbo swirl blows my mind. Figured that if I liked it, it must be a really bad example. But looking closer, the figures show that other people share my enthusiasm. Live and learn. Hope both buyer and seller wind up very happy! ( : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-2-1-2-inch-handmade-latticinio-swirl-marble-in-mint-condition-/321093627719?pt=Marbles&hash=item4ac2abef47
  23. I know I've shown this photo as 'eye candy' before, but not sure where. Hope it's new to you. ( : (The crazy colors are distorted reflections of computer monitors.)
