  1. from the pics i'd say he's done too much "Nuclea Fishin'" by then there power plants, IMHO
  2. here is my favorite "Ground" pontil all original 9/16" "end of day-cloud"
  3. That's what always drives me crazy about eBay and why I normally never buy a MIB that is not in hand, people id'ing things out of their b2tt and not using their brain, to do a little research, here is another group, with an opening bid on nearly 300.00 I mean wtf? just nutty http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-50-VINTAGE-ANTIQUE-MARBLE-COLLECTION-MARBLES-RARE-/390241214686?pt=Marbles&hash=item5adc3060de
  4. Ok this item apparently didn't sell - not mine and probably wouldn't have bid on it. Question is do you think it's a Christensen? http://cgi.ebay.com/CHRISTENSEN-MARBLE-5-8-SWIRL-MINT-/270646011265?pt=Marbles&hash=item3f03c26581 I lean towards alley (but ....)
  5. Hi don't know of any of you have this where you all live, Freecycle is a swap system on line (thru yahoo) joined a year ago to get rid of things (my wife and I did not want to put in a landfill) and paid off today with a free copy of one of Robert Block's Marble Books - so you never know , have to sit thru 1500 emails a month though.
  6. Hi don't know, looks to be original pontils are polished though and there are some clear marks, but do not think it has been buffed because of the price..being 10/10/10 and my lucky number being 10 it cost 10 dollars, came from a weekend antique dealer who had only old glass and books (bought a piece of akro from her for 3.00) so do not know what the original surface of an item this large should be like? thanks for asking Pop.
  7. Hi picked this up in the wild this morning at the local Flea market, yet another reason to love NJ.. 2 5/16" some minor - older imperfections overall stunning condition thanks for looking Pop.
  8. Hi can't seem to find a lot of info on Amber Base yellow striped Akro Onyx snakes is this harder to find, thanks for your help Pop.
  9. I'd say the "Cloud" is 5/8th inch and has a single polished Pontil - the split core is 7/16th and has a polished pontil as well - they both are in excellent condition for their age
  10. here some more pics of the two odder handmades - I think this might be called a "split" core?
  11. and the limeade and pop eyes - one of the pop-eyes has some gray in it Green-Yellow-white-with gray and clear glass is that Hybridization? not often do you get to find so many handmades in the wild - smallest Pee-wee 7/16th - there are 2 Indians and couple of transparent swirls (2 yellow one blueish) one green mica - and two well i don't know what to call them (pic above) this was pretty much the best of the lot condition wise - probably some other oddball ones here - just so nice to find things still pop up - fun is always in the hunt as one wise man once told me "If the Sun is up your already late"
  12. Hi - picked up another Great lot of Mib's this morning at my local Flea.. here are the Highlights including 28 Handmade - a Akro Limeade Oxblood 3/4"+ and bunch of early Christensen "9" slags - a couple of pop-eyes - a nice sized Mineral sphere , pelts and lots more (some which I might need some help to id) total 300+ (less than 3 cents each) proof that they are still out there ... thanks for looking Pop.
  13. Hi and hope everyone is well - recently picked up a lot of marbles there were a few that looked like the came out of a dump (Jersey style) and have some reddish oxidation on them - does anyone know a safe - relatively fast way of cleaning them up thanks in advance Pop.
  14. In theory there would be some Vacor marbles that would be vintage - since they began production in the 1930's - "Caveat emptor"
  15. I never would trust someone with such a blatant typo it's "CEMETERY" not "CEMETARY" even with my dyslexia I can tell the difference and if someone can't write a specific descriptive word, then ergo not an authentic item. IMHO
  16. I do not think that Bruce Hudson is Pavcraz, Pavcraz eBay states he is in Maine that's pretty far from Kentucky, and HudsonMarbles seems to be a collector, from glancing at what they have won IMHO
  17. one other CLUE is if you look at the lighting of the MIB the first "authentic" image has the lamp in it's reflection - the other 3 photo's do not and the surface of the marble is notably different - QED
