  1. These were my thoughts as well. Charles wouldn't intentionally defraud anyone - period. Why not contact him first instead of calling him out as if he was trying to pull a fast one on someone?
  2. Jeroen, I understand that you are still frustrated about your recent issue with a marble but I think you should be more careful when attempting to call someone else's marble a remelt especially when you have never seen it in hand. There is a good chance that this seller will now either lose bids or have bid retractions due to your assumptions that are stated as facts. You may have just cost this seller hundreds of dollars with this auction. Will you be compensating the seller if you are mistaken? Just curious.
  3. Very nice, Randy! A new one for your collection?
  4. I'll be in Seattle here in a couple of weeks and wanted to know if there were any collectors from the area that were interested in meeting up to talk about marbles.
  5. Some nice mibbage up on eBay right now... http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?item=190938193035&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&LH_Auction=1&_ssn=iowamarble&_sop=16
  6. I'm planning to be there on Friday afternoon/evening. Anybody else going?
  7. Those slags are sick, Jeeperman! Very nice!!
  8. Bifrucated... I love those!! Very nice Pelts, Marblemiser!!
  9. Never thought about the water idea. It does show the lobes better. Very nice marble!
  10. There are some good ones this week... http://www.ebay.com/sch/iowamarble/m.html?item=181233575008&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  11. I don't believe Sami and/or Jeff would ever intentionally try to pass off a polished marble as having an original surface. I bet if you give them a chance to make it right with you - they will. I do however, understand your frustration - I would be as well.
  12. I think that box is still for sale if I am not mistaken. It is a real beauty!
  13. It sure was, Mike! We'd love to have you next year! Will you be able to attend the Badger show here in a few weeks? I think I'll be making the trip up for the first time this year.
  14. I believe it is safe to say that the first Des Moines Marble Show was officially a success! A very special thank you to Cathy Runyan-Svacina who graciously volunteered her time and ran not only the adult Ringer tournament on Friday night but also the children’s Ringer tournament on Saturday morning! A great time was had by all! I would also like to thank everyone who contributed to the show by booking a room, table and/or just showing up for room trading! I heard that in-room trading was very good for most. I am very much looking forward to next year’s 2nd Annual Des Moines Marble show which will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2014. Here is the link to the photos from this years show: http://www.desmoinesmarbleshow.com/photos.html
  15. I will stop (just) short of calling anyone an old-timer - well, except for Scott We are holding a ringer tournament on Friday night for the collectors - trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! It will be fun to see who all plays! I'll post a few photos after the event. On Saturday, we will be holding a ringer tournament for the children who attend the show. A very special thank you to Cathy Runyan-Svacina who has graciously offered to drive up and teach the children how to play.

  17. There isn't anything about these boxes that scream reproduction to me.
  18. Who’s all going? We have 30 rooms reserved so far most of which will have two collectors in them. There are 25 exhibitor tables reserved. If you missed the cutoff date for a room reservation give me a call, I might be able to help you out still. Don't forget there is a ringer tournament for adults being held on Friday night - trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded! I'm really looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones!
