  1. I have the marbles that came with the game but not the little wooden pegs for the score board. When I get back home on 15 Aug, I'll see who made it (if it says) and let you know. I mailed it home - too big to carry all the way to Maine!
  2. lol... Mike is such a nice host - he puts up with my silliness with cats!
  3. The way it works - The bat is held with a spring. You put a marble where the picture is - there is a small wire loop that launches it toward the plate. The batter hits the "ball" and the game is on! A few marbles came with it - they look like they are some of the original ones too!
  4. See what I bought in Iowa..... What's it worth retail? I've never seen one before but I just had to have it!
  5. I have added more stuff at my site - if you have time, take a look. Thanks Rich
  6. These are great points to consider. 1. I also know the percentage of the marbles produces per population back in the day VERSES the same consideration today makes the amount of marbles produced buy Jabo VERSES all the other old machine marble making companies about the same (percentage wise in my opinion) so that is a push. 2. WE ALL need to get going on promoting marble collecting!!!!! Today's youth is the answer. We ALL need to get out there and do whatever it takes to get the young kids interested in marbles and collecting them in my opinion. 3. Price gouging????? I need more information please. 4. Same can be said about MK verses Vitro verses CA, etc. 5. I have to agree IF we all don't get more people (younger) involved. I am totally enjoying this thread and I enjoy all of your input - thanks Ryan for starting it!!!

  13. What wonderful things you're doing you guys - thanks for the stories. It certainly gives me food for thought!
  14. I was thinking about the future of all my marbles I have made and the vintage marbles I have collected. We all won't live forever and there will come a day when the marbles I have will have to be taken care of. I am not lucky enough to have any family members that are interested in my marbles as I am. I have two grandchildren that are only 4 months old so it will take years before they might have an interest. I have a step son that will be the one who deals with my possessions in general but he certainly isn't marble smart about the value of any of them and just rolls his eyes when I try to summarize the values in general. Basically I don't know what to do. I'd love to know about your situations and what exactly you'll do about your own collections after you are gone. I really like everyone that views this thread to respond, not that I am trying to get into your personal business, but I thought this is a topic that concerns everyone here and might be interesting. So, I hope to learn from your own stories what path I should take.

  21. Last one. By the way, on the way to Texas In needed a leg stretch break. I saw an antique store so my wife and I went in. I saw about 20 little plastic bags with 3 marbles in each bag, ll labeled "old marbles." I bought 2 packages. Matt told me I had bought a $40 Christmas marble! I feel SO lucky!!!!! Also, when we finished the Zoo, we went to a local antique mall with over 100 vendors where we found mny god marbles that we bought! When I get home in Aug, I'll post pix of my finds at the mall. Thanks for looking at my pictures.
