  1. Exciting! We have a PGA course near us. Never crossed my mind to think about attending. Of course my husband doesn't like golf so I'd have to find someone else to go with if I could even get there.
  2. I have some cubical cobalt ingots somewhere.
  3. What kind of cubes would those be?
  4. TPC Sawgrass? Does that mean you watched golf?
  5. Interesting question. I'd still vote for clambroth but I'd also wait for a second opinion!
  6. I forget how serious tornadoes are. Glad you're okay.
  7. What a great design for the "fur".
  8. Love it! I'm trying to poke around and find something worthy in the photo files.
  9. I'm going to guess modern on the most colorful ones but I don't recognize them. Could they be special runs from Jabo? The left one with red on one side and a gold-ish band on the other could be vintage and Vitro Agate. The left one with red ribbons on a white base could be vintage, and so could the blue and white in front, but I'm not sure about the blue and white or about the green in the back. The green in the back makes me wonder what size it is and I'm sort of thinking Jabo Classic on it.
  10. Bob, yes, mostly high end stuff. That1, thanks for humoring me! After I posted this, I finally read the description and so I see the marble has a transparent green base, but just looking at the photo it looks like a twisty sparkler to me. I cannot imagine what the company name was for this one.
  11. Most. It would be safe to list them that way, I think.
  12. Ummm ... second thought ...... The second from the left in the top row is what is called a "horseshoe cat's eye". That might attract someone's attention if you decided to try to list them.
  13. Right. Worth more than a typical Asian cat's eye. Worth more than a typical Marble King cat's eye. Possibly not worth the cost of shipping though, and if you include cat's eyes in a lot with other vintage marbles, it can bring down the bids on the lot. If you don't feel like trying to list them, you might donate them to Cub Scouts. There is an achievement award involving marbles.

  15. Must. Have. Vampire. Bat. Sulphide. Whoever wants to pick that one up for me and hold it until I visit, that would be cool.
  16. Here is a link to the auctions. http://www.ebay.com/sch/alkare/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 If you can change the spelling on one of the words it could help with anyone wanting to search. You said "Arko" in two of the titles and descriptions. That should be "Akro". Also the name of the full name of the marble where you say "Peltier Acme" is "Peltier Acme Realer". "Realer might not fit in the title. However you might be able to add it to the description. (Is editing still possible at this stage?) Overall I think the listings look very nice. You explained well about the grading and have good photos. Good job.
  17. Hello! Welcome. Yes, Bob is right, you are not alone out there in ND.
  18. Mostly swirls. The one on the far left with the sparkle seems like it was probably made by hand in modern times. The word for a marble made by hand in modern times is a "contemporary". The 2nd one in the 2nd row is not a swirl. It looks like it could be a modern machine-made marble. It might be a style we call Imperial because the Imperial Toy Company distributed them. I'd want to see the ends of the ribbons before I felt I could be sure. And the middle one in the second row also doesn't look like a swirl in these views. Not sure about the far right on the second row either.
  19. Cat's eyes. I think probably all made by Vitro. The first one on the left in the middle row is a little unusual. And so is third one in the top row. But I'll still say Vitro for all.
  20. Hehe ... I can get to this thread easily by searching for "octopus". 1912: Gotta add the word "Jaspies" to the list. Probably some others when I'm read to pore through the Butler Bros. ad for new words. (link) "Jaspers" isn't in the list either. Hmmmm ... I think the existence of Jaspers by 1912 is implied in the existence of the nickname "Jaspies". Wouldn't you say?
  21. When I think black, I think Bogard. From David Chamberlain's Bogard article:
