  1. Ravenswood is what I would guess if someone ordered me to guess or walk the plank.
  2. http://morphyauctions.hibid.com/lot/7426157/4-stage-solid-core-swirl-marble-
  3. It does look like Peltier to me. The bottom right view even has a little grain/feathering in it.
  4. I'm not as sure about Navarre on this one as I was on the last, but the structure looks right for it. Hopefully someone else will know. Time to break out the popcorn.
  5. So that's a pontil with something black blooming from it inside?
  6. Are you allowed to take pictures at the antique store?
  7. I didn't exactly answer your question, did I? It could be fun to try this. Sadly there is a lot of tension between people who like Jabos and people who don't like them. Would be nice if we could do this without anyone getting feelings hurt. Jabo made marbles with oxblood so they could be confused with Akro oxblood. And they made marbles which look like corkscrews. Vacor made marbles which look like Peltier, and marbles which look like Masters and even Christensen or Alley. Factories in China made marbles which look like Masters. The old marbles aren't posted in this thread, but some of the new ones which look old are: http://marbleconnection.com/topic/11724-new-marbles-which-sort-of-look-old/
  8. Jabos (made after 1990) are often sold as vintage. Jabo Land has many examples listed. Focusing mostly on the ones which people named. But you can get a feel for them. Start here: http://anythinggoes43567.yuku.com/topic/1578/unofficial-jabos-w-names-line-reference-guide#.VL6mK9LF_h4 If they're sort of swirly but squishy and no clear idea of which is the base and which is the ribbon, then they could be Jabo. Starting around 2008, Jabo did contract runs with special glass. Some of those had some nice ribbons, and I think those nicer ones have also made their ways into antique stores, but start with that thread to get an idea.
  9. If I had to pick a favorite, this would be it.
  10. LOL. We didn't get any snow to speak of. Grrrrrr.
  11. Hi Jane. Thanks. That Meteor set is beautiful.
  12. http://www.antiquesnavigator.com/d-269648/tin-litho-marble-bingo-game-by-wolverine--original-box.html Probably a good call on the carpet balls. Would be sad to miss out on real antique ones just because they were in pristine condition, but good chance they were reproduction. The 4th edition of Baumann's book has a section on carpet balls including a chapter on reproductions.
  13. Four feet? Do you have a place to display it?
  14. Now that's cool. I had no idea about that function.
  15. Could this be a CAC? I know that answer will be no ... but I have to ask ... could it be a Bloody?
  16. Some neat ones there. You can post attachments. You can upload to the gallery and use the My Media button. You can post photobucket thumbnails by creating your own link and using th_ in front of the file name to get the smaller image to show up here. Code for just the thumbnail: [img=http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv79/arcone/th_DSC00085_zps732286e1.jpg]Thumbnail with link: [url=http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv79/arcone/DSC00085_zps732286e1.jpg][img=http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv79/arcone/th_DSC00085_zps732286e1.jpg][/url]Edit: I tried to use opening img tag and closing /img tag like you see at photobucket but the board automatically changed it to the img structure above. Either way works.
  17. I think the top one might be called a "Chevron". The bottom .... ???

    Aaaaaargh

The Seahawks brought out the field goal team and instead of kicking they threw a trick touchdown pass. That started the demise of the Packers. Then just before the two-minute warning when the Seahawks were kicking to the Packers and the Pack should have been able to coast to the win, the Seahawks did an onside kick and the Packers didn't get the ball. Guess they started coasting too early.
