  1. Ruth Gordon is one of my favorite people for a little game I play where I picture old people when they were six in their old-fashioned little clothes and imagine them imagining their future .... "when I grow up I want to be a famous actress who says risque things and pretends to have an affair with a teenager" .... something like that. It was while watching Harold and Maude that I began that game 30 years ago.
  2. Ah ... so three marbles apiece on the bottoms. Innnnnttterreeeessting.
  3. http://morphyauctions.hibid.com/lot/6210471/lot-of-7--onionskin-marbles- LOL ... I know I'm making this the Morphy calendar, but I'm still sleepy and it's easy to go over to the Morphy catalog when I want to bump the thread.

    Friday

Is Friday over yet. I'm sooooooooooooooo sleepy. Hopefully I won't miss all of Saturday before I wake up.
  5. What is that first one? Can't make that out. Looks interesting. But what is it?!
  6. I would definitely find room on my wall for that one.
  7. Don't see pix in the last two posts but do see the group shot in Post #12. So far they still all look Alley to me. Them being peewees makes it interesting. Alley did make peewees though.
  8. " Why list them as Christensen?? " Because at the time that he listed them, that's what the resource he had said that they were. If someone hasn't been around the forums for the past few years, how was he supposed to suspect otherwise? It's common knowledge to you now. But if BJ has been up there minding his own business in Canada, it's quite understandable for him not to realize that the rug was pulled out from under that ID.
  9. I guess it's a compliment, sort of, that Galen assumed you would know about these mystery marbles. I was sure you wouldn't knowingly post them as the wrong thing.
  10. Hard to say, especially before we're sure they're Marble King. MK had some limited run marbles which you might be able to parlay into a reasonable return if you market them well on ebay or find the right customer elsewhere. [Edit: Maybe Galen is more sure than I thought he sounded. Galen?]
  11. Every time I think I've seen all the MK varieties, someone surprises me with a new one.
  12. The Rosenthal Jumpo Marblo set came with 32 marbles which were 1/2" give or take. I measured them to range from less than 15/32" to a hair over 17/32". I have two sets with patches. (ignore the black one)
  13. Just noticed Marble King is offering jewelry and contemps. http://www.shop.marblekingusa.com/ Edit: wellllll, not much selection but it was a fun idea.
  14. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/20272-need-ids-please/ Are they Marble Kings?
  15. Gonna ask about Group 11 in the main forum .....
  16. Group 12 More game marble and cat's eyes and clearies. Don't really have a good guess for the green swirly ones. *whew* Maybe someone else will take a peek and fix some of my ID's or tell us what the names of those Marble Kings are.
  17. Group 9 A lot of clearies as well as some of the marble types seen above. Clearies used to be very popular. Like with kids who actually played with them decade ago. I seem to recall reading about when it was a Vitro best seller. They're so popular, and versatile, that many companies made them. It could be amusing to try to sort those by maker but it's practically impossible.
  18. Group 8 #1. Foreign (I think) #2. Marble King, similar to some of those posted above #3. Marble King #4. Hard to say ... might need more views. #3 has a special name which I don't remember off the top of my head. I think #2 does also. I think #2 and #3 are both medium old.
  19. Group 7 #1. Marble King Rainbow. Could be 1960's or 1950's #2. Game #3. Game #4. Game
  20. I'm back and that baton is still lying there on the track. I'll pick it up again. Group 6 #1. Basic solid. A little bigger than traditional game marble. Don't see distinguishing features though, so probably goe in with the game marbles. #2. Foreign, modern #3. Don't know. First impulse was to say foreign. Guess it could be American-made though. #4. Marble King
  21. Group 5 #1. Hmmm ... who made purple swirls? Guess it could be Alley or Champion. Might have to settle for putting in with the game marbles. #2. Another hmmm ... and maybe Champion #3. Marble King Cat's Eye #4. Modern Marble King Okay, I'm tired now. Gonna stretch my legs. Maybe someone else will pick up the baton.
