Fire, i am thinking (both) are Peltiers PPPs. Chuck G---

x4, shear cut lines are Akro. Chuck G---

Fire, i have to get on the bus with the others, it is for sure a Peltier. I am partial to these examples because of all the pastel colors in it. Once in (awhile) you will find that some Peltier ribbons that look like a turkey head loops. With, the green transparent base, Peltier all the way. I am (guessing) that they may have wanted a (six) ribbon example but got all messed up to a point. Chuck G---

I must chime into this conversation. Chad is correct, and as for me, but this is me, i agree with him on some "Rainbos" as (not) that are half n half or so call bifurcates. In my (opinion) the example has to one half on color and the other half another color. what we could (call) the plain "Rainbos" with two ribbons one color and two another color, we will let the marble society call them. The other term, (flip flop) colors is a good term. In general (all) two or three terms will continue to be discussed. I will add this for one of the HTF ones to find is the colored transparent base pelts that are bifurcates. Yes, there are some but very few and far in between. Al is correct, some are VHTF. I agree with Ric above. Sometimes you will find this in Peltier, as one of the ribbons does this V pattern making you think another maker. It is a Peltier and real close to the "10W30 Motor Oil" family type. A very deep red/brown translucent base glass. Chuck G---

I agree with the Akro "Milky Ox". I remember (many) years ago, i could have bought a five gallon bucket of these in various sizes. They came from the digs. Chuck G---

i would like to add maybe a little more to this subject that (leans) towards "Pop Eyes". My favs in Akro are the (hybrids). This example would look mind blowing if it had (black) along with it. (YES)< Akro throwed black in these hybrids but (NOT) very often. Look for the "Pop Eyes" that contain this black in them, they seem to fetch a lot more dollars. Chuck G---

This is a very good subject to discuss and many will want to know and how these came into (play) early on. Chuck G---

Fire, (YES), in the family type but ( named) differently, you will find from a bright Japanese red all the way to almost a washed out pink/salmon color and many defused colors in between. Many browns included, from chocolate to the wasp lighter red/brown version. A very nice example and with teh av makes it better. Chuck G---

Fire, i have this (exact) example in my collection and it lies in the "Pop Eyes" for me. I (feel) that this example was one of two things they may have messed up on. Maybe it was supposed to be a "Pop Eye" that missed the third color and or an i (in be tween) "Ringer" and a "Pop Eye". It does make me wonder what the third color would have been if it was supposed to be? It is a very interesting example and HTF. Chuck G---

A very nice example, and makes you want it to be a clear "Rebel". Yes, there is a (very) early clear "Rebel" but it has a clear transparent base. Your example appears to have the dingy light green base. Take a very strong light and see if you can get light thru the what appears black. No matter, just a two color MCS is a little harder to find on what you have. If it actually has (black) it is a (KEEPER). Chuck G---

Happy Birthday Steph, may you be blessed with (many) more. Chuck G---

I like this example, no matter who made it. Reminds me of (oxblood), even though it may not be, and i have examples like this. I am (guessing) that possibly some makers did make (oxblood) "CATS EYES". Chuck G---

X4, I agree, "POP EYE" in my book. This color combo is the most sought after, then the purple and yellow next in line. The very (top) ones are the so called hybrids, four (defined) colors. I might add also, the (bigger) the better. Chuck G---

An honest question--did Peltier handgather slags?
Chuck G replied to akroorka's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I would like to add a little to this from what i have found over the years. I have a photo of the first (manual) Peltier marble machine. The examples that came off of this hand cranked machine were hand gathered. This was the very (beginning)) of Peltiers existence when they started making marbles. In my (opinion), they may have started with the hand gathered "Primas" and (possibly) changed the color pallet just a bit, being an off white and an off red/coral color. A nice example of two colors and cheap to make. I (feel) also that as they changed colors, they went to another base color, such as the dragon green color and from there (probably) into the "Slag" two color combos, being very identified with the 9 or 6 pattern we all see. In the near future, I feel that a lot more information will come to all of us. Peltier (may have) started with hand gathered, then to (regular) slag and then to the feather slag that we all look for. The hand gathered and the feather examples we can id pretty good but the regular ones, may be hard to id. If an original labeled box of these regular slags are seen, you will know what i am talking about and i am sure someone has one of these boxes. This is a very fun subject to discuss and if anyone has more to add or (correct) me on this, please do so. Chuck G--- -
X2, thinking all Vitro. Chuck G---

Melissa, i will take a stab at this as i am still very green on WV swirls. I will say the first three are Alleys, and the last Ravenswood. See what Chuck S says about them. Chuck G---
-
Melissa, I will go MK on the left one. I do not think the right one is an Akro "Claudia" and the reason is from what I have learned a "Claudia" is a two colors of opaque orange and blue, (both colors are opaque). I could be wrong on this though. Chuck G---

I agree with Chad, a very nice Peltier for sure. It has the character of the (yeng yang) twist to one end of it. Chuck G---
-
I like these examples also, as the colors are (sub surface) under the outer layer of colored glass. Chuck G---
-
I agree with Chad. Vacor made some very hard to tell (look a likes). Chuck G---

I would say this is a (blended) Marble King. Chuck G---

Dave, l would like to see what the others have to say. Yes, I think there are some variants that are in or could be in the same family type, as I have some that I question myself. Chuck G---
-
Very nice, I have one also. Chuck G---

I would say Peltier. This example was in I (think) in the Champion Jr bags. Chuck G---
