  7. WOW!!! Thanks!!! Your very welcome!! I'm sorry for the delay in response... My free time has been a little bit consumed by the GA Alphabet letter contest...
  8. It seems to me, the salmon color is most common....
  9. Everything I see in the auction looks OK to me..... There just isn't ENOUGH in the auction!!! If I were looking to spent that kind of money on that kind of marble, I'd sure want a little bit more than "NM" as a condition description... Either in words, or photos.... If 15ยข is too much to spend for additional photos (and, it may be no charge in this category??) I can suggest a way of adding free photos from Photobucket... The opposite of TMI, is NEI.....
  10. Felicia, thanks so much for the link... I'd like to copy the info for our Memorial forum.
  11. I can't imagine saying anything more meaningful than what Bo and David have said..... One so simple.... One so beautifully graphic... Both, so Nadine!! She'll always be with us, but I'm so going to miss her laughter and hugs!!! With Love.......
  12. Hey... I know this guy from the North Pole who can probably fix the bangs AND the buttcracks!!!
  13. Hey Rich, we haven't gotten a vote from you!!! Do you know you can vote?? Yep, you can!!! Thanks to those who have voted!!! If the rest of you have a moment to check out some awesome artwork, before or after the fireworks, please feel free to send in a vote for your 10 top favorites and the 2 categories of Best use of Color & Most likely to become a Family Heirloom Voting closes on July 4th @ midnight PST (That give us in EST til 3 am!!) This contest generates some big money for these artists... In the past, the first place winner has walked away with as much as $2,000.00!!! How cool is that???
  14. YIKES!!! Rich, I've been so focused on the mechanics of this thing, I completely forgot to say... That letter E is AWESOME!!! When I first opened the gallery, that was the first one that got my attention!!
  15. The voting for the Alphabet Letter Contest has begun!!! Voting Instructions Thread You don't need to be a GA member to vote. Everyone is welcome!!
  16. Here's a LINK Would you consider posting current top prices?? It may help some people feel less awkward about calling?? (I know I'd feel more comfortable calling, knowing where the price stands...)
  17. When Jody was featured artist at Wheaton, he signed the marbles he sold... Here's one of those with a very similar end... The opposite end is a little tighter. I apologize for the hair from my sweater and that it's a little unclear. If this isn't convincing enough for them, I'll take another for you... I'm glad this came up!!! It's always a little tough to distinguish Jody's marbles from Steve Maslach (Cuneo Furnace).... I wonder if the pontils tell a tale?? Something to check out!!
  18. For those who don't keep up on the Contemporary Marble activities.... During the Wheaton Arts Marble Show weekend, the Carlisle School of Glass Arts runs a flame-off on Saturday night. Participating artists have 90 minutes to complete a marble. The next day, they are removed from the kiln, judged by a panel of 3 judges, then moved to the Wheaton Arts Marble Show for a "People's Choice" vote... Then, the marbles are auctioned off on ebay and the proceeds benefit programs of CSGA, Wheaton Arts and the Riverfront Renaissance. Check 'em out!!! CSGA Flame-Off Auctions
  19. HOLY CRAP!!!! I remember when Jose Canseco's rookie card was a big deal, too..... I'm amazed he can still drum up 3-digit dollars!!
  20. Would it be really bad to question if all the marbles in the first box were original?? The second marble in the second (from the left) box... And, the second and third marbles in the center box seem out of place to me... Long before machine made marbles were popular... But, boxes were collectible, random backfilling was a very common practice...
  21. Send 'em on... I'll be watchin' for 'em!! Let me know if you need my email again. Great Score!!!!
  22. Oh.... Venetian glass is glass made in Venice / Murano... Early antique marbles may mistakenly be called Venetian because of the ornate colors and swirls that look like Murano glass. That would be an antique glass "Faux Pas!!!" LOL
  23. 'Sorry Gene!!! I got back from the Wheaton show around 3 am on Monday morning... 'Slept most of the day yesterday... I'm slowly catching up on reading the boards... What a GREAT score!!! I can't add much that others haven't said.... They sure look to be in good enough condition to figure a BASE price of 10 bucks a piece... That's $320... Then, there's the board... AND... There's quite a few marbles there that look better than 10 bucks!! I think a lot of people pass on these because they assume the cost is gonna fly high... Then, there's the shipping factor... Determination sure pays off!!!!
