  1. I used to write off people like that as "stupid", but I've come to the realization that they are smarter (maybe "crafty" is a more appropriate word) than I gave them credit for being. They have an impressive degree of psychologically perceptive insights into human nature.
  2. No TV and no cable either. I used to have a TV but it fell over in the moving van during one of my moves, and I never bothered to replace it. There's something interesting about Simon though (besides his billions, heh heh).
  3. Steph's got an admirer, Steph's got an admirer...
  4. It's about three times what I could have expected to get for it.
  5. I mean the Jeff Hale that used diagrams alot on this board (or so they say), and got banned once or twice, I think. He was pretty gutsy in some of the things he said. I think he lives down south somewhere, maybe Texas.
  6. Here are some marbles with (what some would consider to be) Oxblood (while maybe others wouldn't). It's pretty easy to see, I think, why anyone might call Akro's Oxblood, "true" oxblood (or MFC's, but I don't have any of that anymore). Included in the second picture are: MK, Vitro, Peltier, Ravenswood, Champion, Alley, and a German Onionskin
  7. Well, you won't be in business for long. You're missing one key ingredient...a CRIMINAL PERSONALITY!
  8. That's silly. What my cat couldn't've done with that hamster... Hey! I just made up a new word.
  9. Those tri-stage ones where successive layers don't enhance the previous layer, don't make much sense to me. Why have a fancy inner core, then obscure it with irrelevant stuff that doesn't add to it. I don't get it. Reminds me of a quilt, and I never liked those either. Or throw rugs with too many colors in them. Or paintings with colors that clash. I do like the top right one in post #26, though. But the other two on opposite corners are dogs.
  10. Yeah, my red flags when up at that...also this, from her description: "...I OFFER THEM TO THE FINE PEOPLE ON EBAY..."
  11. Here is her response to my question about the colors being true: "Yes there even brighter...Thank you and good luck!!Your friend Tammy" I think the marble probably looks more like the second picture. Still, a very nice marble, but not so pastel.
  12. It could vary anywhere from about 29/32" to 1", but I'm sure it's a Jabo Woodstock. I asked the seller if the colors in the listing are true-to-life, but haven't received a response yet.
  13. I know a Jabo Woodstock when I see it!! And they are always around 1", as far as I know, never 3/4". And none of mine have that pastel pink and mint green that all of hers have had that she's listed so far. And they've been selling for a LOT more than I've ever been able to get for them!
  14. And what's the relevance that she lives in a 150-year-old house? Jabo And I bet the colors on that Jabo aren't true-to-life.
  15. He used to have some interesting comments, although at the time I didn't fully realize it.
  16. It looks very nice in its new home It was pretty lonely here, cuz it had only one other marble like it to keep it company, and that one is sold too.
  17. Actually, I'd have to say that in most cases, I prefer the "pseudo" tri-stages, where the layers work together.
  18. This is my one and only "true" tri-stage handmade. It is 25/32". How rare or common is it?
  19. I only have three German Wire Pulls, and they're not for sale. I'm glad you like that one
  20. I don't like a squeaky perfect marble. I think those ripples and little as-made dimples add character. And a marble without pontils is like buying a car but not getting the title (or something...)
  21. Here's another one. A plain white core surrounded by colored bands, with space between the core and the bands. I don't know how many stages this is. I'm just saying it seems like the intention on most, if not all of these, was for the colors to enhance the plain white core. Marble
  22. I hope nobody gets po'd that I provided a link to this eBay auction. Chances are pretty slim that anybody's going to get it cheap anyway... Tri-stage?
  23. The live listings are mostly Akro and Vitro. There's lots of Buy It Now marbles too. Click the link below. Thanks
