  1. sweet marbles Ric! I especially like the middle one on the top row, and the yellow/brown one on the right of it!
  2. Ahhh! Wonderful!!! Thank you for helping me possibly weed out a few of what I thought were pelts!
  3. Were kokomos not documented as much as the others? I've had some people tell me certain marbles I had labeled as pelts were actually Kokomo.... But I've yet to find much photo id help... Anyways, thanks for showing us those Steph!
  4. Great post! Thanks Steph!
  5. Just a few of mine. I don't care who made the marble. IMO, one should collect what they find pleasing. I have all kinds of marbles, from a few hundred german handmades, to TONS of vintage akros, pelts, swirls, slags....etc. And lot's of Jabo's. I greatly appreciate what Dave is doing now with his swirls... Keep it up I say.
  6. Thanks Steph! Me too, the jabo is completely clear besides the oxblood. Hard to tell in my dark pic I was pleasantly surprised first time I place it near a blacklight!
  7. One of my favorites. Akro Blueberry Limeade Oxblood Patch!!!!
  8. [quote name="ann" post="169232" timestamp="1400856963 Could be. There's also a guy named Baker (I forget his first name -- it's been a while since I've bought any contemps) who uses a lot of gold aventurine like that. Keith Baker... I've bought a few of his. They're very pretty, but his are always signed... At least from what I've seen.
  9. Without a doubt it's new..... No pontil at all, and I've never seen lutz like that. Will this guy ever learn?? I've tried talking to him but he acts clueless or just ignores me altogether.... It's a shame/sham..... Lol
  10. I guess it's no surprise, given whom the seller is
  11. How about it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/360862387373
  12. Coolest jellybean I've ever seen, Ric!
  13. Unfortunately, I was born in the wrong era... the mid '80's... So I didn't have a marble bag growing up. But after taking an interest in marble collecting, my grandfather gave me his marble bag and marbles from his childhood. I'm just thankful my great-grandmother kept them all these years! They are from the 1940's.
  14. I know what you mean! With my job I do A LOT of traveling, so any flea market/ antique shop I see, I'm there! Don't always find marbles, but I sometimes get leads to other local collectors.... WELCOME!
  15. Yet another gorgeous mib! Keep em coming!
  16. He claims to know nothing about marbles, so he starts high and gradually marks them down like 30% at a time until they sell.. But he apparently knows more than he lets on, due to the fact he can "almost" accurately ID the majority of his marbles, and he seems to know a little about marble photography. IMHO
  17. A few weeks ago he had a 5/8 akro limeade priced at $166 obo... I offered him $20 twice telling him that was actually more than they had been going for lately. Both time he quickly denied my offer. A week later he relisted the same marble for $8... I just laughed. I doubt I'll ever buy from this guy in the future.
  18. That's what i suspected. but a year ago i thought i was getting a deal on an ultra rare clay.Lol... Guess I've come a little further since then, as I would have questioned it a lot more before making the purchase today! Paid $15 for it last year. Oh well, live and learn.
  19. I bought this from a website about a year ago.... Was labeled as an "Antique German Clay Marble from 1800's"..... To me it looks like it was an old plain clay that has had some new paint added..... I've just never seen colors this bright before on a clay... What do y'all think? Still it's kinda purdy! lol
