  1. Polished is really bad right? Basically he just polished it to make it look mint? I guess if you want an example of a type it wouldn't be so bad.
  2. I have some jabo classics in 5/8ths that look very similar. But I think you're correct, the swirling doesn't look quite like a jabo. I don't know much about MFC but shouldn't it go for more? Right now it's at 5.95.
  3. Not sure if that link will work, if it doesnt try this http://www.ebay.com/itm/321456548673?
  4. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=321456548673 I could not say no. I am going to cut a piece of cardboard in the shape of a torso and display this on my bedroom ceiling. I may have to get a white hoodie and do a similar design.
  5. Why wouldn't you keep the marbles in what appears to be the original box? They just told you what you have is very rare and you want to split it up? Do what you will, I will just have to hold my pillow tonight...lolz. I claim that sort of action to be marble blasphemy.
  6. Got them today, they look great. I almost can't believe that one with all the bubbles. I mean seriously, it's so light the thing has to be half air. Not to mention how it could have survived cooling? At some point I will weigh it and figure out the density and whether or not it is half air by volume. Are these from your personal collection you are trimming down? How do you decide what marbles go into which lots? When will you sell me more pelts? Thank you so much. P.S., very interesting packing method.
  7. Perhaps the grand slam marble went to a baseball themed pinball board?
  8. Oh, hey there. I figured by the lingo tossed around in the description that this seller knew their stuff.
  9. Where does one find or get copies of these papers?
  10. I just noticed my link wasnt in my last post, these are what I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111397887127?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648
  11. buy houses and renovate them just for the marbles
  12. Just bought these. Put the bid in for hahas and won. I know these are all pelts and they look pretty minty. I can't wait for these to come in. Wife brought up selling some marbles last week. I explained how I couldnt possibly get rid of any and maintain the integrity of my collection. I buy pelts and master. I am down for just about any but those are my niches. If any one needs a particular style I may trade.
  13. from the same seller as the "eight fingers", http://www.ebay.com/itm/351109400576
  14. This bag and double header original? http://www.ebay.com/itm/251572964757?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2648
  15. it says i cant use that image extension, you dont allow jpgs? I couldn't upload a bitmap either.
  16. <1/2" tiny or peewees 1/2-11/16" mibs or targets 11/16-7/8" taws or shooters 7/8-1 1/4" jumbo or big >1 1/4" boulders or toe breakers Any kid or even adult big enough to shoot a 1" marble would most likely choose kickball as a preferred recess pasttime. Like I said, only one kid I knew could do it and even then his accuracy wasn't what it could have been. I don't generally use the term taw. With my son I do but only as a distinction between his shootermarble and the marble shooter. I call the target marbles mibs because they are more than just targets. I do feel awkward though. Where I live there isn't much competition in the category of marble collecting, my use of such terms has been limited. It feels awkward calling it a taw, like I am a phony trying to play a part. Every once in a while I will find someone interested in marbles, inevitably for the money. They think every old marble, rough or not, is worth like 3$ minimum.
  17. What idiot decided childrens sets should have a 1" shooter? That anger comes from the child in me who either a: would have to shoot with a mib, b: use one of my proper size from the antique store or one I dug up risking damage, or c: forego all accuracy and use a jumbo. In fourth and third grade we would play after school. there was this one kid who was big in his own right but also stayed a year back. He would argue that he could use the one inch even though the rest of us used the smaller ones. Luckily majority rule usually took place but every once in a while I'd have to put him in his place, my mib versus his jumbo. I beat a guy with a peewee once, showing off, barely won, it was for keeps, and boy was I nervous.
  18. You just reminded me...As a kid we had this outlet that was original to an addition on the house, maybe 60 years old. I found a couple marbles in it. It had a broken bakelite shell and was "installed" in a hole. I may have to go back rip it out of the wall, muahaha....
  19. I give the guy credit on the photos, the person who bought it knew exactly what they were getting. According to the listing it sold for 9,339.33$. Could be a sham. For that price I'd have it carbon dated.
