  1. I know I've posted this before, but one of my favorite pix of some of my favorite Heaton for this "Slags & Swirls Saturday" they don't get much swirlyer than this
  2. Top left looks like a transitional pinch pontil slag IMO
  3. On the fence here as far as the "Canadian" made marbles go, transitional or not, thanks for the post Joe, maybe this will spark a little dialect ??
  4. A lot of killer pix of eight fingers taken by Ron (WVRONS) on this link. LINK :: https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?t=34074

    4 vitro?

No such thing as a dumb post or question, what you like is what you like. We're all here to learn and have a little fun while we're @ it, super serious and everywhere in between, all are welcome to share their love of & for this wonderful hobby
  6. Left looks like what some call a Pelt "clear clown" or "sunset" Rainbo if the base glass is trans. clear. (R) are regular Rainbo's. If the base glass on the ones on the left was trans. green they'd be "clowns". No dragons present !!
  7. Maybe your pocket, not mine, still a rare Sulphide & I do recognise it from page 123, FR 11 -66 of Stanley Blocks book of sulphides a Roosevelt bust, exact match, the picture in blocks book courtesy of Bert Cohen. The old book price for a mint example is $400.oo, my how time passes, this marble has become super rare looking @ the price. 8. My tables all have grooves in em ... .. hang on a sec, I'll think of another excuse for the loupe !!
  9. x2, machine ground = no facets : Hand Ground = Visible faceting even though it might be very faint on the best examples the faceting will still be visible on the surface when you bounce light off it and rotate it slowly you'll see the light waver or flicker off the surface indicating a hand faceted surface. (if you have good eyes) I'm blind, I need a 20x loupe to see anything ...
  10. Master, brick, ash and bubbles, also the unknown manufacture ones that I got from overseas w/ no air bubbles and a mass of snow in the base. Overseas Master
  11. I always thought a snowglobe was a marble w/ potash or oven brick in it regardless of manufacturer ??
  12. Still a nice mib, a monster, I'd keep it too
  13. No pontil, Mineral agate IMO (natural ground agate not glass) the colors were there before it just has some fractures in the rock, you'll find it's much heavier than glass and colder to the touch.
  14. Nice big Peltier Spiderman, how big is it Dave ??

    Melon 🍈?

Could be almost any manufacture IMO
  20. Some Akros from a score a couple years ago, including 2 giant double ingots.
  21. Here's an illustration, in one production method the glob is split but still a single gather & both end up having a pontil.
