My best and favorite (coffin) boxes I had made by Phil Thomas ( [email protected] ) all from Brazilian Hardwoods Yeah I'm beatin it again but the craftsmanship is excellent & the prices were great. Strong magnets insured a tight seal not easily broken, I can't brag enough about these boxes. I had Phil make several other display boxes for me all of the same caliber, I guess he's pretty well known in the marble community & been @ this for quite some time> I talked to him personally and more than a hobby, working w/ wood is something he loves to do. Here's a few more I had Phil make for me, all extremely high quality w/ the same magnetic locking mechanism.

Your OP is a glazed clay (crockery) IMO, Chalky is a glass marble

Chuck's (cheese) AAM avatar is a Chalky, not the same as his Pelt avatar here on MC ( just to eliminate any confusion)

Ron gave me the info I wrote, yours is news to me. He said he knew the wooden floors were coated w/ lime to prevent the all to common fires that were so prevalent in early marble production. He told me after one of his infamous answers to my question w/ a question. I dug for 3 weeks for the answer to no avail. Thank you for the new info Chuck If you could find a pic of the wormholes or a broken Chalky that'd be great.

Looks like an old German Ribbon Lutz to me & a nice sized one @ that, nice mib

Nothing on you, just explaining & showing for anyone who might not know the difference between the two

Chalkies are glass marbles that fell from the machinery (rollers etc.) & hit the lime coated wooden floor during production in the process became lime coated themselves. The floors in the old marble factories almost all had lime on them to prevent the common fires. OP is a glazed & fired clay marble, not glass IMO, looks like a so called lined crockery marble to me ? Looks of modern make, not vintage ?? All are not Alley but it seems some of the best examples are. A very desirable marble as most were buried or discarded along w/ the rest of the imperfections.

Yes CAC made both 1 & 2 seam red slags, I've had both also. MFC was the only one that didn't make any red slags as far as I know ?? The HG question is a good one !! Wish I was there so I could give a more definitive answer Brad ??
-
OP is Akro IMO, MFC didn't make red slags, Christensen did.
-
CAC or Akro slag. Both flash and non flash pictures. About .65.

Box looks real to me but the dividers don't look original & the marbles almost have a guarantee of being backfilled. Don't think I'd be in any hurry to purchase anything from Argentina though !!

Steph's link is the only forum actually called "Japanese Transitionals" I've seen the extensive amount of knowledge you've contributed to the hobby on AAM. I was there on your very first post, thank you for all the hard work/. I truly hope you find something new here.
