This bag took me many years to find. A match to my board, I couldn't believe my luck. I also believe the marbles to be original to the bag considering where they came from. I had the box and instructions but oddly enough they decided to take a walk and never return, if I ever catch the scallywag that done it

Three of my favorite go too's for this "Sundays Best" again and again I've flipped the pages of these books, now @ least a few of them have gone to a good marble Brother. From marbles & marble history to marble packaging all 3 are outstanding resources & a must for any mib heads library

Looks like a really nice old homemade board, (one of a kind IMO)almost everyone "used" to play marbles and marble games as a pastime. A little pride in your work never hurts. I remember when I was a kid Grandma, my Dad, nearly everyone I knew had a family Chinese checker board. Now they're reduced to wall hangers. Nice board BTW Tommy

Definitely has a couple unnatural round wear marks on it, I've found different rocks that were used as fishing net weights, grinding stones etc. The weights had a groove going all the way around them to secure the rope or leather that had been tied to them. Now the state has made it illegal to touch, move or remove any Native American artifact. I have a collection of arrowheads from my childhood from before the law was passed "once I find them " They fishing weights looked similar to these, made from heavy dense stone, I found them all in or near creek beds trout & or steelhead fishing, some near sloughs when I was a kid & had more Getty up go. Oop, there I go again straying off topic, excuse me Brothers & Sisters.

Finest & cleanest Akro limeade oxblood I've eve owned. Not even an asmade dimple or crease, @ over 3/4ths also the biggest for this "Akro Friday" The camera wasn't moving, I had it on a tripod & took pix under several different sources of light including natural sunlight, the ox gives the illusion of movement, I thought it was me @ first that's why I decided on the tripod. All the pix show the same thing.

Peltier Cannon Ball, Correct? Looks nothing like a zebra imo.
Chad G. replied to StevenJustSteven's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Pictures I submitted are all of Peltier Cannonballs' the links I provided even say cannonball, no Orion's belt. Bill (mibcapper R.I.P.) had two of them i.e.(cannonballs) they are oversaturated av. Zebras. A white base with oversized black ribbons saturated w/ aventurine, you can see in the pix where the black ribbons overlap the white base, more of doesn't mean that's the base color. Can be confusing @ times I know. That's why there are so few examples of them that pix are VHTF. The pix posted were all taken from Cannonball I.D. posts on AAM. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Orion's Belts :: LINK :: https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12659 LINK : https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30118&p=233165&hilit=orions+belt#p233165 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ There are 2 different types of Orion's Belts LINK: https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=34360&p=261257&hilit=orions+belt#p261257 Re: Orion's Belt Report Quote Post by westcoast_dave ยป Thu Feb 02, 2017 5:31 am The way Clyde (R.I.P) relayed the info to me back in 2011 was: California collector Bruce Lockheart (R.I.P)named the Orions Belt specifically because the blending colors of aventurine reminded him of the Orion's Belt star-forming region. It was an NLR Zebra-type marble with multiple colors of aventurine tracing it (black, silver, blue). He also said it could have other colors like bronze or green but it must have the silver and blue. If you will notice, Clyde's and Dani's examples are predominately NLR Zebra-type marbles with multiple colors of aventurine tracing the ribbons. I attached a photo with red arrows pointing to the three black ribbons that put these marbles in the NLR zebra category, but were considered by Clyde to be Orion's Belts because of the additional blending aventurine colors. After Clyde passed in 2014, i noticed a lot of postings of another type of marble being called an Orion's Belt. In my opinion, it was just a miscommunication somewhere along the line from collector to collector. I also attached a photo of a couple NLR green rebels and the newly dubbed Midwest/East "Orion's Belts". Clyde and i discussed these types in depth, especially when we received Bruce Lockheart's entire collection from his wife after his passing. We felt the now called Midwest Orion's Belt was more closely related to the NLR Green Rebel because of the similar transparent green ribbons and the black AV in the orange ribbons. But we felt it was a misfit and couldn't be called a Green Rebel hybrid and even joked about calling the examples without AV "tropical christmas trees". I spent more time than anyone with Clyde in the last years of his life. More time than his own family. He was my pelt brother and he taught me everything i know about pelts. Rest in Peace buddy. ATTACHMENTS . It was an "NLR Zebra-type" marble with multiple colors of aventurine tracing it (black, silver, blue). He also said it could have other colors like bronze or green but it must have the silver and blue.
