  1. This one is a slag imho--Akro--Maybe--- Marble--On!!
  2. At ¾” I would usually just defer to this one being a Jabo—but it has a weird finish like that of a later Champion. You know, that weird misted on shiny metallic finish. This type of finish has always been hard for me to capture in an image. I have looked at this one for many months and have yet to get a grip on it. Regardless of the maker—it is a beauty! I need some opinions here on the maker. I just love the marble—my kind of stuff for sure. Nice and round and very minty!!(The oxblood makes my blood boil!) I just love this stuff!! Marble—On!!
  3. Dwarfed does not mean a bad thing--selective is a good thing. I have a selective collection that is dwarfed by those that I do not collect. Dwarfed does not mean a bad thing--selective is a good thing. I have a selective collection that is dwarfed by those that I do not collect. This is the way! Marble—On!!
  4. I do not believe it and I would never believe it. Antique dealers do not keep their collections in-store—ever. This type of marble were dug and collected as such. Not to say that they were not marketed but as I recall there were a fair amount of these found in the ground. Size always matters! I have been there and I usually win--I have passed on things that I wished I would have purchased. This is collecting, let your heart tell the truth. The fact that you are asking is a good thing. Like I said--size matters, condition as well. Wet mint @ 1"--I might go for it. One little flea bite knocks it down to about $75. Of course you will have to consdider any work that has possibly been done to it--bring a lupe and a light and study it, if she objects--walk away. Marble--On!!
  5. The bottom image--the left one on the bottom row, is as I suspected. A nice Akro Agate corkscrew. The same image and row—the middle one. This one needs it’s own post and attention imho Marble—On!!
  6. The left hand one is very nice--check it for UV reaction--it may be an Alley. The right hand one is a Raven imho. More opinions are needed--for sure. Marble--On!!
  7. The right hand one is more than likely a Vacor “Mummy”. The left hand one is a Vacor “Black Panther”, these come in a variety of patch colors with a black base. Nice marbles and images as well-- Marble—On!!
  8. I agree with Ric. Jabo also made a bunch of peewee marbles. Marble--On!!
  9. Nice work on the images StevenJustSteven. This may well be a hand gathered marble--or not. I have done multiple trades and have never been screwed--trust and know your trading partner. Expect what you expect and move on if you are not satisfied. I have never been disappointed with a trade—ever. I am old school and do not involve myself with social media. Years ago I was a member of “Nans Board” (this is just a guess it may have been Nan’s “something else”). It was a great break from all of the arguing that went on back then between marble collectors. I had to drop out of collecting because of some reason that I cannot remember and do not know what happened to the “Nan” thing. We would trade marbles one on one through the administrator and the one marble that I remember was from a new collector that just dived into it all. She sent me her first handmade marble, she made it herself. What a sacrifice! I still have it someplace and when I see it, it brings me back to the good old days when some folks were trying to do what we do here today. Just collect and do not judge. Live and learn. As always— Marble—On!!
  10. Agreed Alan---it is Nutz though--- Marble--On!!
  11. Thanks Ric, The question for me is---Slags or swirls? These are hard ones for me. Marble--On!!
  12. Always show the ends of boxes. This one is stapled and not glued---very cool!! Very cool indeed!! Marble--On!!
  13. I disagree my marble collecting friend. If this is a Vacor---well I will eat some stinky cheese (which I like by the way). If you plan on selling, get some more opinions on this one—it is special. Marble—On!!
  14. Well---I am a box guy and I have not seen this one before--nice find, very nice! Any box that has the name Peltier on it is a great find. Game marbles yes--rare find --yes, imho it looks to be in great shape as well. Is there any printing one the edges of the box? Marble--On!!!
  15. Go for a walk---then come back and look at some marbles--I just did--the fresh air will take the boredom out of life, the marbles will push it away. Marble--On!!
  16. These are pretty cool indeed. I have had a few of these with the dark almost olive drab color pass through my hands. I would call them slags but who made them is the question that I have not ever answered. Marble--On!!
  17. Nice marble! I will lean with you--very nice! Marble--On!! I checked it over pretty well Fire--not even buffed imho. Marble--On!!
  18. They look like Vitro over MK to me as well. Lets hope for some more opinions. Marble--On!!
  19. Welcome to TheMarbleConnection, MonarchMom. Banana is a Peltier marbles term. They did come in a few sizes. The Pelt “Bananas” are known for the crystal clear base glass—some of the best clear glass that you will find in any marble. I do not doubt that your first images show Pelt Bananas. The ones in your hand are foreign, probably from an Asian maker. I would not call them bananas, rather Asian cat eyes. These foreign cats were made with recycled glass, this is why the base is greenish like an old Ball canning jar. Nice images by the way! Marble—On!!
  20. I made my own years ago. Four boards a few screws one hole in the top, one light underneath shining up. It took me about twenty minutes to make and it still does the job very well. Marble--On!!
  21. Lets bump this one for more opinions. Marble--On!!
  22. These are the blue version of a "Rooster"--imho---very nice glass! Marble--On!!
