  1. I agree for sure. The thing is, very many WVS companies made this type of marble--the colors involved. I will lean toward Alley Agate here with a shout out to Champion. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more Marble--On!!
  2. Jabo--little doubt. Marble--On!!
  3. Jabo--"classic" or made during the Jabo factory production runs. Jay--bo--not Jobbo--. Marble--On!!
  4. The lower right hand image shows some attributes of what may considered a hand-gathered marble. The top right image shows some "copper reflection". Copper was used to repair worn rollers. Imho this one is an Akro Slag. Of course, I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Nice marble regardless of the final ID. Marble--On!!
  5. Wow, another big one. I would not call it Akro, Jabo, or Vacor. I am stumptededed😁. More opinions are needed here-- @Al Oregon has seen more of these than I ever have. @Nantucketdink is always the go to for weird Jabo that we can not ID. Marble--On!!
  6. That is a big marble--nothing too fancy. This size was produced by just a few makers. I see the scratch on the lower right image. If I had to guess- given the images--well no guess here. It could be a Jabo from production--or an Akro from the digs and a lot in-between. Yes I look--very hard. Not enough here for me to make any positive ID. Marble--On!!
  7. Image one—the one I asked about, is a ā€œPainted Chinaā€ imho. These are named after the processā€”ā€œChinaā€. They were actually made in Germany. They come quite fancy—yours looks to be in good shape but not near the tops in design. The one to the left just boggles my mind, the black and white one. It looks like glass but with indents involved—it is probably clay but the finish had to have been painted on—I have no clue. There are not many Clay experts that I know of—I am not one. Maybe @Chad G. or @bumblebee may have a clue. Brian Graham has researched American made clays more that anyone that I know but I forgot his handle here. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Very cool marbles. The ā€œgermansā€ need some input as well. Thanks all for any input here. Marble—On!!
  8. Oh yes they did--they used to be the bane of my collecting. They were all over the place. Softer glass, little white hit marks, all sizes. To find a bigger one like you have without any damage is a bonus for sure. The Jabo Factory in it's later years, allowed "contract marbles" to be made. A bunch of marble nut's got together and forced this issue. Money was spent and Dave McCullough (rip), was there to oversee most of it. Here is a good link that gives the basics. https://www.westvirginiamarblecollectorsclub.com/jabo-inc-contract-runs Marble--On!!
  9. Ok Fire thanks! Not a solid corešŸŒž. I am glad that you have it . Memory is not my greatest asset. Killer marble though!! Marble--On!!
  10. Me too. The run is not a "run" the majority of what you show are Jabo "Classics" or marbles made by Jabo for general sales throughout the world. Machine made, factory made, production types. Just imho--more opinions are needed for sure and I appreciate them all. Marble--On!!

  14. "Lined Crockery" Nice size. These came glazed and unglazed--older than Peltier for sure. Nice marble! Marble--On!!
  15. I wonder what the one in the upper left is??? The white one thats shows two red stripes. Nice mix, I would call it a score. Marble--On!!
  16. I believe that it is--I think that I traded this one away--so not quite sure. Marble--On!!
  17. Of course they did--no argument here. I am glad to see the edit here Marble--On Cheese Commercial, in the earlier days did make their own glass--they had to. I am am glad to see that you edited as well Alan. I just love this stuff and I like to see that we can backoff and accept each others opinions. Marble--On!!

  22. This is my vision--- A youngster back in the 20-30's--male or female was playing with marbles in the living room. It was winter--just after Christmas. The house-cat got a-hold of one and it rolled down the cold air exchange and back into the coal fired furnace--Mom kept the cold air return quite clean back then. After an up-grade to a more affordable fuel oil furnace🄶😁. This marble was found. An Akro ā€œTurquoiseā€ slag. Yah, I dream about this stuff and have had it happen too. Just a dreamer-- Marble—On!!
  23. Nice "Parrot", The toe smashers are not easy to find with great coverage such as yours. Marble--On!!
