But it is a master I’d assume? No masters were true moonies as only Akro and CaC ever sold true moonies. I’ve seen moonie like marbles from all major companies however, just never a master with moonie type glass.

Still going through the jars I bought last weekend. Found this guy, has master hallmarks and appears to be a moonie. Did master make moonies or similar marbles to them? It was hard to capture this with just my iPhone.

I’d also say it’s a vitro

Champion also made moonies, just saw a ton of them at the canton marble show.
-
Not seeing Ravenswood in those.

That’s 100 percent a vitro and also not Oxblood imo.

They do sort of have a Cairo vibe.

I just found four of these guys in mint condition from a jar I bought this weekend. Any idea? I’ve seen ones quite like them. They almost look like some Akro swirls I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

^ those pelts are great. Here’s some of the mint stuff I’ve gone through with the jars I got today. 3 yasuda marbles, 2 faceted agates, loads of awesome vitros, some super nice akros, a nice CAC, pelts, alleys etc. The second pic is of a marble I didn’t even know existed, appears to be a vitro caged cateye but never seen the blue base glass before.

Had an awesome day at the canton marble show. But what was even more awesome is that afterwards I went down to an antique store and asked if they had any marbles. He was like well I have many jars in the back that I’ve had for 30 years and never wanted to sell them. But for some reason he decided to sell them to me. The individual bag is just some stuff from the top of one of the jars, and it’s all mint. It’s going to take me forever to look through all the marbles and can’t wait.

^ just an iPhone for those ones…

I’m 35 and care deeply about marbles but nobody my age cares about antiques, none of my friends care. I’m the youngest by far unfortunately at most of the marble shows I go to. Occasionally you see a young kid at a show but usually with their grandparents or something. Doesn’t mean the kid will care to collect or learn the history. I go to antique glass shows too all over as I collect other glass, and there’s hardly ever anyone my age. It kinda distresses me.

This isn’t really a score as it was free. I went down to Paden City and was in the park and not sure if the park was doing maintenance or what, but below the railroad tracks and in the park looked like maybe they were doing pipe work or something and there was loads of MK cullet and marbles just sitting on the surface and considering it’s public property I figured it was fair game to pick stuff off the surface. Haven’t cleaned any of it yet. Didn’t find any great marbles but some of the cullet was pretty cool. On a sidenote, is any of the alley factory still left? I saw that there is an abandoned factory right next to and north of the MK factory. Is that where alley was? Or maybe it was formerly in the MK factory building, not sure.

Who made it?

Canadian Transitionals?
PittsburghMarbles replied to PittsburghMarbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
So the question still stands as to where they came from as they don’t look like any transitional makers I’m aware of or have. -

Also to add to this, nearly all of the jackson examples of colorful swirls glow like crazy that I have and you are def correct. (Don’t know why the second photo is upside down, I checked and it’s right side up in my phone, oh well).
