  1. The 2nd photo seam looks Akro to me. The first photo looks suspiciously like master to me; but what do I know? Ive only been doing this for 3 years, ugh.
  2. Ehhhh, these could be European. Only one that strikes me as possibly a master is the brown one on the upper right.
  3. The red large moss agate ones in my experience nearly always have as made fractures all over them. It’s hard to find the shooter sized ones unfractured imo. I found around 12 of the large red moss agates recently and they all had as made factory fractures. The yellow and green mosses don’t seem to be as fractured usually.
  4. Not all dug marbles are ones the factories saw as rejects. I’ve dug at a lot of factories, and there’s plenty of mint marbles with no defects at the factory sites. Lots of the marbles at factory sites fell off the boxcars/rolled out of the factory/fell off loading docks etc.
  5. Did the cleaner eat that much of the glass away from just one clean? Or were they sitting in the solution for like years?
  6. Some more of the best mibs I’ve pulled out of the jars from the above post. Still have about half to go through.
  7. ^ yeah, that’s what I think due to the colors; but this one has no seam lines like at all; so I just don’t know.
  8. The 4th photo definitely looks alley to me.
  9. ^ With those super vibrant colors I’d also say vacor…
  10. Are there any better photos of the marbles they made?
  11. Yup on all, except the lower left one like steph said. Could be Akro…
  12. Hmm not vitro imo, I’m getting slag vibes from it.
  13. I rarely get confused by Akro or Peltier. I found this guy in a jar today and it sort of corks, but the colors look like colors you would see in an NLR. So I’m not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Man, I’ve been getting really lucky as of late. Found an antique store that was going out of business and they let me look through loads of jars of marbles and I got the jars dirt cheap. Just started looking through them and there’s already some great marbles.
  15. That would be really freaking awesome if true that these were from the great Chicago fire.
  16. Got the board today in the mail, from the above post I made. Some absolute stunners. You still can find some amazing deals on eBay; just have to search like crazy. All of these are mint. I think my favorite ones are the end of day ribbon that I’m holding and the end of single pontil cloudy end of day with a whispy tail. The seller seemed to think that the board was worth the most from the posting and didn’t seem to know what they had really. Those are the best. The only one that didn’t come with the board is the really colorful red, blue and yellow 4 paneled one on the left side of the board, got it at the canton show a few weeks ago.
  17. ^ Just thought that sense many have what appears to be ground down pontils that someone may have polished them and they are all in immaculate condition. Since I mostly collect machine mades, I guess I don’t know really what faceted pontil means. Were they ground after finishing them?
  18. Here’s some more photos, hopefully better than the first. All of them still have remnants of the pontil but the tops of each pontil are ground. I know ground pontils are a thing they did historically but not sure if they would look like the ones I have here. If you click on the photos the quality is much better.
  19. I just got these off of eBay and I am not sure if they have been polished in the modern era. I really hope they haven’t. But lots of them have ground pontils. Not sure if they would have sometimes done that back when they were made.
  20. It actually doesn’t take much time to organize them this way, just lay out the washers and look at them multiple ways quickly to make sure they line up. Did the layout in about an hour. Now I just need more shelf space. But because we have two dogs and a cat who loves to jump up on shelves and bat things off I am confined to this one room. Wish I had endless amounts of money, I’d invest in fancy glass shelves that have doors so the cat couldn’t jump up onto the shelves. Our cat got into my room a couple of weeks ago and jumped up onto my Peltier shelf and Cairo shelf and batted every single marble off of them. I almost had a heart attack when I saw it. Luckily somehow none of the marbles got damaged…
