Is there anywhere one can buy a marble polisher? I have hundreds of marbles that I would love to polish and everything else I’ve tried has failed miserably. I might as well just spend the money and buy one, if you even can? This would open up loads of marbles that I can’t afford and just buy slightly dinged up ones and polish them a little. Don’t even know if one can buy a polisher or if you have to assemble them yourself and if so, I’d have no idea how to do so.

Just got this huge lot of marbles, an antique store had a bucket of marbles that was selling them for one dollar a scoop, so I asked how much for the whole bucket and got it for 18 bucks. And I also found two Akroware pieces today separately. I haven’t gone through it all yet but so far this is the best stuff, the two CACs are pretty beat to hell, but they should polish nicely.

Yes, only about 16 or so known. Couldn’t believe I found one, prob won’t find anything that rare ever again.

No ox, but the three blue appear to be later alleys, the green may be a pelt, but would need better photos.

My first impression is a champion furnace but not sure at all.

Here’s some Akro I’ve found in the past month or so at antique stores and garage sales. Also, can’t remember if I posted the ashtray before on here but I found it around 6 months ago at an antique store for 40 bucks; almost couldn’t believe it when I found it and I was shaking. Also found the rest of that Akroware recently at garage sales etc in the past month or so. Everything is in mint condition with no scratches or anything in these photos.

Hmmm that’s possible, I’ve been trying to figure out what breed is in the marble, almost looks like a lab but they weren’t really a popular breed until after ww2.

Nipper?

Man, those look very similar to later vitros...

Looks like a vitro cosmic rainbow.
-
At first it looks like a pelt rainbo but the 4th and 5th photo gives it away as a vitro.
-
Hmmm looks NLR to me, either way its for sure a pelt and one from the 30s probably.

Id put that with my Masters, for sure is a rare one.

All three are def slags, and most likely all akro. -
It was good meeting you too, hope to dig with you somewhere soon again. Have you looked through any of the stuff you dug yet?

^ Yeah that’s the only one that wasn’t fractured, I dug up about 12 other yellow lightnings and they were all fractured.

Just got back from the Cairo dig this weekend. Just started cleaning stuff. Didn’t find tons of marbles like the Heaton dig but still got around 400-500 swirls out of the ground along with buckets full of cullet. The first photo is stuff I’ve cleaned, two of the cups are mint marbles and such. 2nd is the only mint Hurricane I dug; did also find some nice cullet of it too. The white and red marble in the 4th and 5th photo is actually a Davis marble, there were quite a few Davis marbles there actually. A lot of yellow lightnings which were thought to be Cairo but with the help of Ron Shepherd we found out they’re actually Davis. I’ll be posting bunches of better photos once I get everything cleaned and some stuff polished. The last photo is the Davis ones I’ve cleaned so far and found as it was hard to see what you were pulling out of the ground since everything was covered in goopy mud. I still have loads of stuff I haven’t gotten around to looking at yet.

Thanks everyone.

Got two of these marbles yesterday in a huge lot. I’m fairly certain it’s an Akro but never seen these colors before.

Yup, third photo shows it well.

Them bubbles are very pelt like, especially in that third photo.
