  1. I have about 800 Heatons and none look like that, but I mean it could be one, I think Ron would know though. My first guess would have also of been Jabo but I’m much newer to all of this than most of you guys.
  2. The white one could be Davis, Jackson, Cairo, Heaton or even Alley. Pretty dang hard to nail down those clear based white swirls for certain without provenance in my opinion.
  3. That first is one of those German companies from the 20s to 30s. There’s a name for them, some almost look CAC that are German made. I think they’re called German opaques, at least the one I have is. Was convinced it was CAC for the longest time.
  4. First is def an alley, 2nd is prob alley imo.
  5. Over half of them glow like crazy too. Probably the most amount of reactive to UV marbles out of any company if this bag is indicative of mostly what they made which it probably is.
  6. I got the bag today. Took the staples out very carefully to look at the marbles. They sure are pretty. I’ll probably display the bag next to the marbles as I def want to look at them. I’ll always keep the bag with the marbles. Definitely don’t want them to get separated. Thanks everyone for the awesome information.
  7. I don’t know, for sure looks like a pelt to me.
  8. I recently bought this bag of Jackson marbles but was just reading tonight that Playrite bought Jackson’s leftover bags and may have filled them with Playrite marbles. I hope the bag I got is Jackson’s and not Playrite. Playrite look very similar to Jackson marbles. The reason I bought it and thought that it’s all Jackson’s is the marble in the first photo. The orange blue marble at the top of the bag looks pretty much identical to one of the Jackson’s I already have. Although I guess if they’re Playrite than that won’t be too much of a bad thing as that’s the only company I don’t have any examples of that I’m aware of.
  9. I don’t know if I ever posted this here, but this was a pretty awesome score I found at a garage sale a while back for 20 bucks at a garage sale. A 1930s solitaire board mfg’d in England and full of Yasuda transitional marbles in absolutely gem mint condition. The box is a little worse for ware but I couldn’t believe it still when I found it. Probably one of my better finds in the wild ever.
  10. Just purchased this on flea-bay, on a marble tear lately. My first original box of marbles by Akro. I highly doubt these are the marbles it would have originally come with but there’s some great marbles along with this original tin. If I can figure out what marbles this tin originally came with I can probably backfill it with others I have. P.S. Don’t tell my girlfriend; we just had to buy a new crazy expensive furnace for the house today as the 27 year old furnace finally gave out.
  11. Also, don’t think I posted this; got this over the weekend for a bargain, not that it’s super valuable or anything; but love the original play time box. That probably won’t ever happen at a garage sale or antique store. This playtime set adds to my other original boxes of children tea sets. The Alley Chiquita set is another great find from a few months ago. On a sidenote, does anyone know where they got their boxes from as in what company made the boxes and the printing for them? Perhaps Akro made the boxes but I doubt that. Surely the boxes were outsourced from somewhere else.
  12. I have 5 Peltier picture marbles in mint condition now. It’s taken 3 years of marble collecting to find these that don’t cost an arm and a leg and aren’t busted up. Just acquired 3 of them this week; had the bimbo and Andy previous to this week. Just love these guys. Hope to find a Tom Mix one someday…. but that probably won’t happen. The damaged Koko was given to me by the seller for free so I at least have an example of one for the time being.
  13. ^ thanks for the link, don’t think I’d buy a repro box ever, I’ll hold out for a real one if one ever becomes available. On a sidenote, I just bought this Smitty last night. I’m on a pelt picture tear this week.
  14. ^ super nice. From my experience; the Sandy, Kayo and Herbie ones are the hardest to find with good solid prints for some reason. I’d absolutely love to find the box but that’s probably impossible. Where did you get the “new” box from?
  15. Yes it’s a White based red peerless patch. Finding them with no splatter is nigh on impossible. However as the splatter is as made on most I don’t find it to be a detriment to the marble.
  16. Just bought this Orphan Annie Peltier picture marble too. Now I only I have 8 to go. Might also get a Smitty, for the right price if possible.
  17. Seems to be unidentifiable for certain.
  18. Wow, I would have for sure thought the one on the right was Champion.
  19. I’ve had this one for a while and have never been able to figure it out. It’s not Heaton, Cairo or Davis etc. the only option really is Alley and I don’t think Champion, but I’m not sure. Help is greatly appreciated. Guess it could be Ravenswood or Alley.
  20. Bought this on the fleabay the other day, hopefully its not damaged. Been looking for a Betty boop that wasnt outrageously expensive for a while. Now Ive got 3 out of the 12 Peltier picture marbles. Of course not counting the rare ones like Tom Mix etc that I will probably never ever find. s-l500 by PittsburghMarbles, on Flickr
  21. Can’t believe it, just found this original set of Akroware at a flea market. It’s just missing 2 pieces, but I can probably find those on eBay or something. Finding these in the wild is pretty impossible nowadays, this is the first set I’ve ever found just driving around.
