I don't care for these. I got them for a song at a Church basement sale this morning. I was disappointed to see these after the lady helped me locate what she called "Cats Eyes". I heard of them before but never stopped to investigate. Well since I had these now, I wanted to know how many came in a bag and found out people are really into these. Some are worth a pretty penny. I think these are from 1999 and there would have been one loose and 9 in a 2 pc plastic tray inside the bag displayed in a blister pack. I guess I have 5 extras, there probably was another set where they came from. So now I am looking these weird things up. LOL I learned I will grab them if I see them but I have no love for these Pokemon marbles.

I agree Jabo, I like it! But I know nothing hardly about which runs.

Al ~ I hit that "Wow" emoticon or whatever they are called. So awesome. Bucket list stuff for me.

That's a small lot? Nice grab! I am a fan of these bubbly rainbos. 7th image looks like there might be fractures?

Great pictures! Everybody looks so happy. Marble people are a breed apart. Go to an antique show, a coin show and it's no comparison. Wish there were more shows especially near where I live. Thanks for posting. -
This pair showed up in a mixed lot. I have moved them from here and there and just can't seem to stop picking them up again and again to take a look. So I am not a big fan of clear marbles except for nostalgic reasons but these rather oversized bubbles grab me. I don't remember seeing another like them. I don't see any seams. They are not heavily frosted but certainly not clear. I guess I could ask if anyone else has any and if anybody knows where they came from. I wouldn't be surprised to find one in a spray paint can. They are hard to photograph.

I am partial to the Sheriff Spud and the Touchdown Tater. I used to drive a school bus and once in a while I would stroll the halls to the restroom after my run and admire the elementary school kids art that was proudly hung in the hallways. I loved that stuff. It is that kind of art that cannot be duplicated by adults. BTW Fire . . . What grade are you in this year?

As promised for Monday Almost all of my Marble King collection is in this post. The images should enlarge when you click on them. I have some shooters and perhaps a few strays in other places but I guess there is 600 or 700 marbles here in all. My favorite more common types, like em because these were the kind that I played with as a kid. All my MK mibs in this post are in very nice problem free condition. Thank you for looking. Tri Colored Rainbows In that rectangle at the bottom are a small group of more modern MK that I bought from Jack Hahn at the 2025 NJ Marble Show. Bumblebees Both St Mary's and Paden City One Color Rainbows I call them Patch and Ribbon, I think that's right? Cub Scouts - Wasps - Blended Rainbows - Rainbow Reds - Maybe some Cookies and Cream Some others that needed to be separated that are surrounding a empty Marble King Tournament Assortment bag with a foam insert for keeping the shape right.

Are these more recent Marble King Shooters?

It's excess colorant in this case. No sparkle, and thanks for that info. -

Thank you kindly Chad! I shall read that on AAM. I am kinda glad they are MK even if they are newer. about 10 of mine do glow in the white areas under blacklight, I should take a real good image of what I perceive may be aventurine specks. Not that they are all that exciting and it's probably just crud in the glass. -
These are not like the single color "Patch and Ribbon" pattern but the colors look very much Marble King. These mostly have same color patches on each pole. Just two, and a few have two different colors. Almost all are 1 inch, but I think there are 4 here that are 7/8 th inch. That yellow one in the corner is a regular size player marble. Also, Looking at them, is it possible I might have some aventurine floating around on the green ones? I don't want to call them Marble King without being sure. I got them a ways back and they were advertised as such. Thank you! Another angle

Well, 81 very nice Marble Kings showed up today in the included bag. They and the bag were very greasy but they got the Dawn soap and rinse treatment and the bag is also clean. Not a bad marble in the lot. Three gaming marbles were in there. I have a few odd ones that were included and they are MK. I always like those Bumblebees. I have yet to get me a Girl Scout. ( and I am taking about green and yellow ribbon Marble Kings! ) I have no idea when those bags were used, this exact bag anyway. I'd like to know how many it originally held and if the marbles inside resembled those I got today inside it. The auctioneer may have discarded or cherry picked this bag. There seems to room for 25 or more I guess? I like Marble Kings a lot because those Vitro All Reds, and Cats Eyes were the marbles I played with 60 years ago. Thanks for looking and reading my post.

That is the question. Actually, I think they are one and the same. There next to the factory tag is a group of original marbles to it (24 + 1) that came out of that Tree Frog net bag. Out of many assorted bags I have accumulated enough to make 9 sets in all, each with a 1 inch shooter. Now there is a marketed named marble that is available in bulk too and perhaps comes in Mega Marbles net bags as sets. I don't know? They go by the name "Tie Dye". So I just sorted them up, making the more busy and deeper colored ones the Tie Dye and this is the tag I photoshopped to bag them up. Here's a closer look at the busiest darkest set of those seen in the top right corner of the first picture. For the "Tree Frog" here's one of the three across the middle to compare. I simply pulled thinner to nil black and brown swirls and grouped them up. My tag version I made up. So I decided I had 6 "Tie Dye" sets and 3 "Tree Frog" sets. Does it really matter? Two top left sets could have gone either way. I just happen to lean the way of how many tags I had printed up and "Tie Dye" won. Peltier, Ravenswood, Akro, Marble King . . well, most all other companies have established names for certain marbles in our circles. They almost are all out of business too so there won't be any new nicknames but Vacor, they change the marble or change the names and tags a lot. It is pretty tough to keep up with so I just try to have fun with things like this and not go too crazy.

Hey, I appreciate every post you put up and your thoughts behind them. Mega Marbles sometimes changed the names more than twice or called a completely different marble a same name as what used to be something else. Heck, sometimes I dream up my own name and lables for the hybrids or wacky strange ones. It's all good. If we were only kids again playing marbles at the playground we sometimes made up our own names for our favorites. I never remembered calling my green patch and ribbon marble kings by name. I might have called them "green eyes" huh?

Spumoni have a yellow opaque base with blue and red swirls. I have a lot of those too but not half as many as these orange base mibs. These Supernova orange ones are also sometimes known as Intrepid Girl too. Here's link for Supernova from Beakers World. https://beakersworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Supernova-MM-Net-Bag-front-scaled.jpg

Some are dark, some are bright, some are heavily iridized, some less so, some not at all. Some are larger, some are small. but they are all most likely in acceptable condition and I am fussy. There are 395 in this picture. I have been going through my collection and doing this with all my Mega Marbles. I have them all alphabetically cataloged and arranged in showcases and tubs. I started with A and I am going to start with the letter T hopefully today after this job. Almost done. I am very OCD. lol Supernova is the most populated variety in my collection out of probably 12,000 Vacors. I am sure I am not alone, these were probably one of the more produced types found in assorted net bags in recent years. I don't rank them in my top 10 favorites, but the best 24 and best shooter out of this project will be quite a super net bag when I am done. Thank you for looking.

Haven't posted any marble pictures lately but I was sorting tonight and gave this a whirl. Out of many assorted net bags, I chose these. Probably one of my top 10 favorite kind they make. FIESTA I do believe that the recent ATOM issue is maybe the same. Maybe those have a tad thinner swirls but I bought two of those. Thanks for looking!

It appears that there is a bit of black in the swirling there in your image of what you think is a Mummy and I have no problem with it. I can easily see in your photo the purpl-ish color. I do think if you sort the Orangutan from the Mummy outdoors it is much easier to tell the difference between the purple and orange base glass in natural light. While going through a bout 160 Roosters last night ( Another Nightmare ) I have a whole net bag (24 + 1 ) that has predominately powder blue instead of white swirls on all of them. I have some with Orange/Yellow blended in with the white, I have alternating White and Yellow swirls and some are a deep dark red base and some are a much brighter vibrant red. I suppose I could go crazy figuring out which are Fire or Fire Blaze and which are Roosters too. So I made up my own tag and call the real fancy ones Super Roosters. This is Vacor, it is sometimes like a box of Cracker Jack with a surprise in every net bag.
