  1. . OK, I'll try to get some good images of those two ( I think we are actually talking about two i the first image. I will also post that far right in the second picture. Thanks. and here they are. I had to watch my Stephen Bahr movie again to study them and compare.
  2. Wow, thanks a lot Ric. I have a little homework to do there but put me right in a good direction.
  3. I think it's either Akro Agate or Master Marbles here and I sort of think I was starting to put them with their kind. I know, I need to learn my colors and seams but are there only two marble makers who made these? Thanks and good night!
  4. I think I'm looking at Vitro. The one on the right is not a good enough image for you to think too hard about. Ill update with a better image in the near future. Thank you!
  5. I'm sorting by manufacturers in my collection. I pulled these as I figure they are all or almost all Master Marble Sunbursts or something better than your everyday mib. If you see something in this group that is not a Master Marble and can point it out and enlighten me, I sure would appreciate it. (I know, that one at 1 o'clock-ish next to the light blue looks like a slag but it is a brushed patch. There is a lot going on inside those 4 white patches too.) Thank you very much!
  6. Not the most exciting post, I know. At least I think I have three groups of patches here. First is a group of translucent base patches. I am guessing that I have only Akro and Masters in here. I just need a little help. I need to know if you see the same or something in addition mixed in. I think on the right are the Moss Agates. I am thinking that tray on the right is maybe all Akro. Some glow under UV. This image has a bunch of who knows what but I believe they are opaque base and some may have opaque patches and others translucent or even transparent. There might be a good marble in that bunch. Thanks again!
  7. Wow, I did pretty good, half a year ago I didn;t even know what a Vitro was. Great help there. I will take better images of the questionables and post again. Thanks. I'll be doing an exercise on Akro patches vs Master Marble patches or whatever else is out there. That is a nightmare. I must learn the seams and colors but at least I have them pulled.
  8. I have been rearranging my marbles by makers first then by types. I better do this before it's too late. I am getting a bit swamped in my incoming versus my organizing. LOL First group, I am not sure of but I do see same colors. The small one just needs a group to be in and is trying to assimilate. The wiggly one is odd. I am thinking these are Vitro. Second Group I am more confident about these. All except that top right. That purple I see in that patch we will again in the third image below. The others almost have that Helmet look. There are two windows in the blue ones to look inside and the striped one is somewhat transparent and I can see red/orange striations inside. The third group has a solid color patch and wispy white inside and out on the translucent base. I am sure we all saw these before. I know they are probably common That purple is yelling Vitro to me, I figure the rest are too. I just want to know if I'm barking up the right tree and if I have some that don't belong, please identify them for me so I can move them elsewhere. THANKS!
  9. I think the first image, the white and orange are known as Koi Fish. At least in some packaging.
  10. Well, besides my few dozen loose ones, these are my 21 different net bags. Some are US and some are Glasfirma Round Tags that were not sold in the US. I used to think that these foreign marbles were junk many years ago and ohhhhhhhhhh I was so wrong. Wish I would have bought them in the early 90's and collected Vacor long before that. Even these new ones have my respect, not all of them but most and I like the ones I have collected so far.
  11. Andy Davis Tops and Bases I won at auction arrived today. I gave 2 away to a couple kids today so here are the 18 I have left. I think I paired the bases and tops up pretty good. I posted the listing image in the "Score" thread a week or so ago. These supposedly come from the cullet glass from the Oct 16th 2010 Jabo Ladies First Run. The base on each reads Davis Glass Studio Art West Farmington OH
  12. I'm guessing a wooden sphere. I think that I see wood grain (tree rings).
  13. I totally agree, looks very Jabo to me too.
  14. Am I seeing things or do those "crows" actually get that name because they look like they have a profile of a bird that kind of looks like a crow. The beaks being the darkest area? Maybe I got up too early?
  15. Looks like cantaloupe and honeydew melon colors. I like it.
  16. There were a lot of Jabo marbles and hundreds of tops with bases lots on a recent hibid auction I was watching. I tried to win some marbles but I was tighter than the skin on a hot dog with my money. I squeaked through a lot of being outbid and in the end I did get 20 of these tops with bases. I suppose they were made at the same time Jabo Ladies First marbles rolled out of the furnace. I looked at marbles in that run and they look a lot fancier and more colorful than these tops. Maybe they cleaned up the glass left in the furnace making tops and other stuff once they made all the marbles they wanted in a "run"? But I got these at a good price no matter what they are. They look to be maybe a little wider than an egg from this image and the bases even larger. I never saw one in person. I also bet they made these pairs bigger? Obviously some will be better than others in the lot.
  17. Some people would say "Hey that's a good'n" for a good marble I guess. Good one.
  18. I appreciate that Ric. I suppose a closer look at what are most definitely game marbles right out of a chinese checker game for example, might sometimes reveal a little swirl pattern in those marbles too.
  19. A little different light situation for these two images. I like these subtle swirl designs. Maybe they were intended to be game marbles but I can clearly see a swirl on both. They are about 9/16ths diameter.
  20. Thank you for the opinions. They will be considered Marble Kings and I will study them and compare to other patches I have.
  21. I've seen these before. They do not fluoresce and the white patch seems to go pretty deep into the dark green base perhaps? The green is quite clear. The coverage shouldn't shade the light as it appears to, but maybe that's all it is. These are about 5/8th diameter. Knowing who made these will help me decide on further sorting through other patches that are corralled together. Can you tell me who made them? ( I am leaning toward Jabo because of the depth of the white ) 4 Different pictures in different lighting situations of the pair. Thanks a lot!
  22. Thanks Ric! It is surrounded by Jabo's that's for sure but to me it just has a bit of a different feel and look . . . and size, a tad bigger. I get a feel for something older but I don't know. Those glowing lines are so cool. I am going to see if I can capture them better. I do have another UV lamp to try. Late Edit I managed to get this image which kind of surprised me.
  23. I like colored base swirls and have numerous combinations. I do think these are Alley Agate and wonder if they are common and if I figured the maker company right? I have at least two that showed up at the same time. I might have another elsewhere. They're about 9/16th inches. They almost have a hint of blue to the gray. Thank you!
