I've seen these before. They do not fluoresce and the white patch seems to go pretty deep into the dark green base perhaps? The green is quite clear. The coverage shouldn't shade the light as it appears to, but maybe that's all it is. These are about 5/8th diameter. Knowing who made these will help me decide on further sorting through other patches that are corralled together. Can you tell me who made them? ( I am leaning toward Jabo because of the depth of the white ) 4 Different pictures in different lighting situations of the pair. Thanks a lot!

Darker Brown and Dark Brown Swirl with Thin Reddish Lines
The Nickel Guy replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Thanks Ric! It is surrounded by Jabo's that's for sure but to me it just has a bit of a different feel and look . . . and size, a tad bigger. I get a feel for something older but I don't know. Those glowing lines are so cool. I am going to see if I can capture them better. I do have another UV lamp to try. Late Edit I managed to get this image which kind of surprised me. -
I like colored base swirls and have numerous combinations. I do think these are Alley Agate and wonder if they are common and if I figured the maker company right? I have at least two that showed up at the same time. I might have another elsewhere. They're about 9/16th inches. They almost have a hint of blue to the gray. Thank you!

This is 21/32 inch in diameter. So much nicer in hand. These images are taken under flash and with natural light. If you look you can see some very thin red lines that are very UV reactive and glow bright orange. They are well defined thin lines, and almost an overlay close to the surface having a swirl pattern of their own. They can be seen in the first picture in the first group of three. Not easily but they are there. They almost have that peltier feathered look to them we see on slags. I would say this is very close to what this looks like in hand, quite dark. I tried taking pictures with my blacklight flashlight but did not do a very good job but here's one shot. In the last image, I am surprised how well the color showed up in an overhead shot within a group of other mibs. I show a second blown up image. Bottom row fourth column. So my question is who made this marble please? I have no other like it and can't find another. I wish I could have presented it better. This is the best I can do. Thank you!

Nice marbles. Great find.

davesnothere I really appreciate the reply. I just got 5 bags in the mail today from Moon Marble. They look great and happy in those nets. The Serpents look the same at first glance as the ones in the net. This image I compiled from like packages on the internet. I will be posting mine but I have to run right now. I wanted to thank you though for your in depth response to my post though. Very nice of you.

I have a bunch of Vacors on the way, actually, they are Mega Marbles and Top Notch but I suppose they are still Vacor de Mexico. These are all I have in my collection before the bus loads start rolling in as far as I know. I believe these are what might be Volcanos These are what I see are at least an earlier run than what is currently the latest Serpents. I think they are Serpents and in the same group on the end is a Planet marble. I am kind of new in this territory of collecting but I have noticed that issues and reissues appear to change in detail, quality, names and who know what else. Some have evolved dramatically into a completely different looking marble altogether over time. So are these marbles of mine anything special?

I was sorting my 5/8th or generally close to that size marbles in my Jabo section of my collection last night. There are probably some that are not Jabos. There are some probably that are that I would not have figured as such not too long ago. Since I started collecting these I have learned that there were earlier production marbles made by Jabo before the more fancy efforts and contract runs. Late Edit a day later ( I took new images and sorted out the maybe Jabos I think ) 4 trays

Very Interesting transparent green base

I think it's a Master Marble brushed patch? -
I do have one like my chunked mib as shown in first post that is a little smaller and in unharmed condition. It has joined a ever growing population of damaged vintage marbles in a fruit basket that once held blueberries. I meant it was a standout (my favorite at first glance) in the envelope with the other dozen or so. I assumed it was mint, the rest looked so nice but this one was the casualty. When I got home I saw the whack. I may be strange but I don't care for damaged marbles of that degree and they will go. Maybe I'll make some kind of plaster or concrete art with them this summer. Maybe a platform of some kind to set my marble display on?

Today they came in pairs. Another couple Master Marble mibs

I thought I was being helpful by working the lighting and sharpness so people could see the interior of these marbles. I don't understand? I spent most of my afternoon and evening trying to present images that people could decipher for ID's. There was no deception, I came right out and said I "tweaked" the images for lack of better word. I also would never enhance images to sell something on eBay. But wait, I don't sell on eBay. I am somewhat insulted. If I can't provide a natural daylight picture, I won't be posting any more. Sorry. -
I like those imposters. Nothing wrong with those.

⅝ transparent green and amber
The Nickel Guy replied to marblemanvintagemarbles's topic in Marble I.D.'s
I changed this image a bit too. It should show a bit darker for you. -
In a batch of marbles I bought today, this one was a standout. That is until I saw the other side. The deal was done and no need to cry over spilt milk but I really like that combination. I have seen them before. I did get a beautiful red over white translucent base corkscrew though which eased the pain a little. Corks are my weakness.

⅝ transparent green and amber

I just got this one and the little odd colored transparent guy today in a batch of Master Marbles, It looks like a champagne or rose wine colored "clearie" with a faint white "Brushed Patch" which is what it is called I think. I remembered your marble here and it reminded me that they might be related. -
Master Marble Sunburst post No 2 - A mostly blue one
The Nickel Guy replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Yes it seems so. Great shape too. I was lacking MM in my collection so I am happy. You're thinking of Krimpets. Criblets (something I think I made up) are little teeny tiny crawly things and the stuff they leave behind. You don't find them without a magnifying glass but when you do you wish you didn't. -
Could these possibly be comets or meteors with such a large base of opaque white and a window of what looks like your sunburst pattern? I do think again, I have some older Master Marbles. My score today is starting to look a bit like Noah's Ark with two of everything. Images are tweaked to show the interior details. Otherwise these would look pretty much black on white. I thinkl I remember Stephen Bahr or Ron mentioning crimp marks on these. See that odd color at the seam of the marble on the right?

A pair of smaller Master Marble Sunburst ?
The Nickel Guy replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in Marble I.D.'s
There ya go, changed the brightness. -
Earth colors but a lot going on over the surface of these two brothers. I think again, I have a pair of earlier Master Marbles. Nice shape.

Master Marble Sunburst post No 2 - A mostly blue one

Thanks Alan! -
Patches can be boring but I find these to be a bit above your average. I think they are old even though they show no wear and tear. There are 5 marbles here. 2 pair are alike with orange and yellow patches. I can see thin flow lines in the translucent patches that I think are much cooler than your ordinary opaque on opaque base patch. Another two look like identical twins, with a red translucent base and yellow patch that kind of radiates out in lines into the red. Another single newcomer that I picked up today has an almost perfect round patch of this same red on a opaque white base. Looks like the first pair in color but the pattern looks a bit different?

Now first off, these images are sharpened and brightened, instant fixed and what not. Lots of dust and criblets of mystery clinging to the surface of this new acquisition I brought home this morning. This is also UV reactive. This marble is in terrific condition but in hand quite a bit more subtle. Still very pretty. I'm leaning toward Master Marble Sunburst. I was thinking an Akro would have much straighter lines.

Thanks all. For their age they have not had much or any game time. The condition is terrific. Title edited to reflect what we have here.
