GREAT news Winnie. I always knew the information was there someplace. All of it could not have been lost or destroyed. Many of the so labeled German swirls and others,may get a true history attached with them. This is likely only the tip of the iceberg that has been hidden all these years. Also some in France,great news. THANK YOU so much!

Fishing again tomorrow until 3pm,then on to the Maine marble show. Back to PA and WV maybe sunday,maybe monday,maybe tuesday,maybe more fishing???????

On Golden Pond NH.

More fish with captian Griff.

AFTER fishing in NH for 4 days. No marble pictures,the last three days has been filled with fish. Griff and myself are in NH fishing Squam Lake better known as Golden Pond,and Walter. We have caught several,large Rainbow trout 4-5 lbs.,Lake trout 5-6 lbs.,bull head catfish,too many yellow perch to count,white perch,salmon,3-4 lb. Small mouth Bass,Pickerel. I have fished for 50+ years,guided trips from FL to Canada over the years. Griff is as good as any of them. This is one of my top three fishing trips ever. The scenery is great and hospitality none better.

Al,your bag contains Heatons. Like the marbles in the one in the Morphy auction. I would have liked to seen the mesh bag and handmades in different lots. I might have bid,but not together with handmades. Together,this may hold some bids back,either mesh bag or handmade collectors.

Nice to see you again Edna. Good to know you are back home ok. So glad you could come to the show. Wish i could have had more time with you,for some general chit,chat. The next show,this weekend in Maine.

Two Gropper Made in USA,bags containg Cairo Novelty marbles.

I am wrong,sorry about that. Thats what i get trying to post,tired and sleepy.

Definate Grooper bag. I think that i know the marbles. Grooper packaged many of the WV swirl companies marbles. Looks like the header may be split. These headers were weak and with the age,many Grooper mesh bag headers are split. If not split,many end up split during shipping. I have had them split in shipment,sellers do not realize how fragile the header is or how to pack them for shipment. I received a Grooper bag a year or so ago,from this auctioneer. The header was fine in the auction,but split and pieces broke off,when it reached me. The same with a mesh bubby bag,and the bag had a hole in it.

Oh yes Bill,wait till you hear the price,thanks to Nancy. I also have some new info for you about a machine and some dirty marbles.

The fourth picture is Sammy Hogue on the right and Junior Ice on the left. Junior is one of our local long time Marble King experts. I did get all the Blue Ladies including the box,from one local person. The Akro and Master boxes from Mike Johnson. This year there were not many Cairo marbles for sale,as in the past. More and more people keeping and collecting them now. Smitty did bring some and sold every one quickly. Craig,they were the same as the ones you sent me. A couple mesh Buddy bags and a mesh Jackson bag were there. Nancy Frier brought a variety of original bags from Alox. Jeff Theobold(columbusrockhound)had a nice display of his new graphic designs wood collector boxes. A good variety of old and new marbles filled the building,and some outside. The very best,was another day shared with many good friends.

Dang,not May. But i will visit Maine for a full week,about middle of June. Near Bar Harbor,cabin on a lake,canoes furnished,hammock furnished,lake sunset furnished,seafood nearby. Now if i could get Griff to furnish the fresh fish.

I received a email from the hotel. As of today they had some rooms open,not reserved during the show dates. But this can change day by day. The outlook looks even better than the 2010 show.

I will be there this evening and all day tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Nancy is here and will be there,again.
