  1. I agree Thanks for the clarification. I had a new collector email me asking where the pontils were.
  2. I think it is a older 1931 Sistersville Alley.
  3. Opaque, blue base, back and yellow, Blue Galaxy. Cub Scout has no black.
  4. No one has changed the long time many years, Peltier John Deer. Once it goes in print to the public, it is there forever. Lots of people forget that and now it is world wide.
  5. Is it opaque, translucent or transparent ? What size is it ?

    Vitro?

I would need a good look at the cut lines.
  7. I agree the darker the brown is better. The color can make value go from $300.00 or $400.00 for the dark chocolate, to $100.00 or $50.00 for 2% chocolate.
  8. I don't think it is a handmade or any pontils. Handmades do not have eyelashes. I am not sure what it is ? The pictures are focused on fingerprints more than the marble. Looks like a clear base with slight green and dark blue. It would most likely cost more to polish it than what it is worth.
  9. We are the marble gods.
  10. No oxblood. I think the Vitro is a Tri Lite where the blue got over top of about half of the buttermilk.

    CAC Slag?

Not anything electric bright colors here. Not layered sand. If you thin a layer of white over red, you many get pink, purple or amber. Red base with white slag.
  12. It is nice to make a kids smile. Good work !
  13. Every week. I have another collector friend here now from PA. He has been here six days. He threw a dozen or more in my gravel driveway three days ago. I threw about six in the trash today. They had a fracture.
  14. Old does not make any marble valuable. Many new marbles can be worth more than many old ones. What is old ? What is valuable ? If valuable is over $5.00, give them to the kids. But many machine made marbles can be $100.00 each or $500.00 each or more. But 80% you find, will be $1.00 or less. Never hurst to ask and be sure,
  15. You can buy them at most shows at 10 for $1.00. If anyone will bring them or put them out for sale ? I can see what I have left, that I have not give away or thrown away. The shipping may be as much cost as the marbles. Probably the most numbers of any marble Vitro Produced along with the All Reds. Probably over a billion of Conquerors also All Reds. Vitro made both from the early start 1931 to 1986, over fifty years steady. Vitro was making Conquerors and All Reds until 1986.
  16. I do not know of any WV swirl company that did not produce some size ear pattern, some curve on a swirl, that may be like a ear pattern. It takes more than one trait to id a marble. Just my opinions or thoughts on the original. How many clear base with dark brown and white Heatons do you have ? How many Heatons have sharp points like a flame ? Pictures one and four have white coming from inside to the outside. I have no Heatons that look anything like pictures two and five. I did not see any Heaton trait, none. The glass quality looks very good, older and better than most Heatons. But each of us will see something different in very many marbles. Three people can look at one marble and all three may see something different. A big reason collecting marbles never gets boring.
  17. Any blue base and red marble is now a Spiderman. How many companies have marbles named Spiderman ? Some have more than one Spiderman. No different than Superman, anything blue base with red and yellow. Now people even ask if blue and red is a Superman marble. This last month a person ask if a green base with red and yellow was a Superman. Named marbles have lost 50-75% of their original meaning and respect as to how, who or why they were given a name.
  18. They are both the same value, for a 5/8 is about 10 to 25 cents each.
