Mikie_T
I love the swirls (of course) so I added this one to my collection from the antique store. Who made it? Also, can you say why you arrived at your determination? I need to learn a little more about how to identify makers.
Steph
Gosh, no. Can't say. Good odds of it being Alley. It seems within the Alley range in structure, and Alley was the highest volume producer of that kind. But I can't rule out Ravenswood ... and with the translucent white I can't rule out Heaton. Kinda wondering if anyone else thinks it could be Heaton.
Mikie_T
Here is one more sort of decent pic. I am having a hard time getting decent pics with my phone.
Steph
I want it to be Heaton. @Ric?
lstmmrbls
Ravenswood might be a good guess.
Mikie_T
Out of curiosity, anyone have a Heaton example? Do you Steph? This Heaton thing has my Curiosity piqued. Mike
Steph
I'll try to remember to hunt mine up. Today I have to do something for an 11-year-old, and I'm not sure how long that will take. I'll put a big sign by my computer to hopefully do it tomorrow if no one else does. We have this thread which had a lot more examples ... but then Photobucket killed most of the pictures. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/6790-mostly-pix-heaton/ I'll have to pull out my Heaton box and see if what I'm remembering is as close to yours as I'm thinking .... Mikie_T
Thanks Steph... Those 11 year olds need your help and guidance while you can give it (and they will accept it). Dang, leave it to photobucket to mess up a good thing. Yes, I would love to see your Heaton that looks similar to my marble. Mike I need to study some more in your study hall area....... Ric
This is a tough one. Several different makers are possible but I think Champion is more likely than Heaton or Ravenswood.
Mikie_T
I sure was hoping it was a Champion Ric. But I knew I had to ask the experts before I pinned a name on it. Mike
wvrons
I would have it with Heaton or Cairo.
