DINDO
I was thinking today. If i was on a desert island with the choice of only 1 American company's marbles to enjoy . What would it be? Personally it would be tough between Akro or Alley. But i would go with Alley. What would be your choice?
Steph
My first thought was Marble King -- with a lot of bumblebees. But then I got practical. I'd have to go for the California Onyx Company ... because stone would last longer. This is a fun question. As much as I like having my random conversation thread bumped, this deserves its own thread. I know someone who can make that happen.
schmoozer
I would have to go with some company associated with alcohol????
Steph
Well, there's a Budweiser Jabo. As to actual alcohol ... the only one I know is Mexican ... Tequila Canicas ... so it doesn't qualify.
Steph
Just for fun, here's a picture of the marbles I'm taking (actually these are owned by Doug Mitchell, grandson of the company's founder)
Steph
Aw, we need more people to play so I don't look silly for making this into its own thread.

I'llhavethat1
Well, Akro Corkscrews could pass some time spinning them around. In a straight up "alone on a desert island" scenario it would make sense to go with a nice quality clearie and use it as a magnifying glass to fry some ants. schmoozer
Ok, so maybe the maker isn’t important? I’d want some reusable ammo for my wristrocket to ensure an adequate food source.
Steph
Oooh, do you prefer ammo which will fly further or hit harder?
schmoozer
isn't that kind of the same thing??🤔 Steelies would be best but would rust pretty quick, so maybe just your ordinary 5/8" glass mib.
Steph
Aw heck, I'm back to bumblebees. All bumblebees. 1000 of them.
Nantucketdink
A whole lot of Corning glass fiberglass marbles to melt down and make a boat hull with to get off that island.
