I'm not too knowledgable about these types but the open poles suggest  they have been polished. I doubt they are "end of day" marbles.

Clear shots of the poles

Looks polished with remnants of pontils, the rets of the surface of the marble if polished is most likely very smooth, clean with no residual tool marks. The yellow latt, looks like it hasn't been touched, very good shape.

This is probably the end you're thinking of ?? It looks like what's left of a ground or faceted pontil after polishing, very shiny clean and smooth around the pontil, I can see your reflection on the left. Sure wish I had it in my hands I could tell ya for sure in one second what if anything has been done to it. Look for some tool marks somewhere on the rest of the surface, if you can't find any going round & round at all & the surface is perfectly smooth I would say polished for sure. I'm somewhat baffled, it appears to be an original surface on the right hand side ?? Also clean around the pontils like it was hand buffed, but only at the pontils, the rest of the surface appears cloudy, looks like pocket wear??

The marble has been spot buffed & or polished with residual damage, looks like they had to stop or wipe out the marble completely

nice marbles!  I've seen onionskins open up like that near end of cane so I'm not yet convinced it's buffed/polished.  If original that's a very nice marble with the mica and all.

I think the term "end of day" is more of a myth when applied to marbles, although a fitting term for other types of glass manufacturing where you used up what you had left and made whimsy items (like turtles for example).

Is that Onion Skin old or new ?   If it is old it has been worked on.  It just does not look right for a old original Onionskin.

I agree about end of day being mostly myth and just a sales pitch to increase price. Why not beginning of day ?  Who knows what would be the last marble, end of day. In one days time there would be hundreds of end of cane from one person.  The first off of cane and last off of cane can be different. But end of day ????? Maybe they were there in person when the last marble was made that day ?????????????   So many marble terms are nothing but sales pitches or traps to get more money. Like Golden Rebels are rare. I see them for sale at every show, every where.  They are nice marbles but not rare in my thinking.

This a piece of a cane that didn’t get finished with a marble. Turned into a paper weight. I always thought an End Of Day was a marble that had one pontil with the ribbons ending in it and a clear pontil to finish it off.
