Fire1981
This one is 1 inch on clear base glass. It is a machine made marble. Kinda wacky !
akroorka
This one may be a Vacor Atmospere, style #48 imho. Marble--On!!
Chad G.
Atmospheres I believe were all handmade !! If Ricks is machine made then disqualified as an atmosphere ?? I may stand corrected but to the best of my knowledge is true ??
Fire1981
The glass is kinda seedy/orange peel on the surface.
akroorka
Atmosperes were hand-gathered Chad. I do believe that they were run on rollers after the gathering process. The sizes all add up to that. Atmosperes vary in size because of the process of the gather. Good topic for another day perhaps. I believe what I see, and call them like I see them. This one excites me. Great marble!
Fire1981
Compared to the Foreign Sparklers it's smooth and not as "seedy". What would you call this trait ?
Fire1981
That process makes perfect sense ! Is this an Atmosphere color combo ?
Fire1981
I looked at some Atmospheres and they have explosive color combos. I think this one is similar in the process of making this type of marble. How can you not think of candy canes on this one.
wvrons
Doesn't look machine made to me. Maybe poor contemporary. Poor job encasing the red and white with clear. Off center, on and on. Even the red and white is poor job and twist. Maybe older contemporary. ? Maybe someone trying to lean how to make mables out of a furnace ? Poor quality inside and outside who ever produced it ?????
