Steph
A forgotten boxtop ... it's in the Akro Timeline thread but I apparently need more refreshers. P.s., this is also a reminder about Popeye boxes not being all Popeyes. Your wicked oxbloods coulda come in a box like this ... maybe?

Steph
Shell, Akro, Vitro, Master, Marble King, Alley and/or Champion, and foreign companies have all made clearies. It's nearly impossible to tell whose those might be. One way that you can sometimes narrow your guesses down is to look for their cutlines or to look at them under a blacklight. Sometimes you'll get hints about the structure which make one company stand out as a more likely guess than others. But it's practically impossible to be sure unless you have them in the original packaging, so the main thing to do with clearies is just to enjoy them for the colors and light effects. Steph
You found a bin with ten cent marbles? That would be fun to play in. Good eye.
jeeperman
I need a bin like that. Full pockets is what I would have.
J_Ding
Thanks! It was hard to make out in the dark antique mall...very small. Just a little zip bag with a mix of 20 marbles, mostly common but earlier, for 2 bucks! Swing over to the vitro site for the other gem from that small lot. J_Ding
Thanks Jessica! Time for a hand gathered slag. My present thinking is this one is very probably Akro. John

J_Ding
I suppose some collectors wouldn't give a single color cork any mind at all. Too bad...they might be missing something. My thinking is this one is an early cork...couldn't prove it, but the richness of the color, that lazier corking action, sure makes me think so.
