Question About Peltier Purple Tiger

Tried to get a pic in daylight and it does not help. Took some close ups with bright light and color still does not show well. Thought you might enjoy the pics anyway. Brad -
Question About Peltier Purple Tiger
bjmarble replied to manddrakes's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
This marble was at the Buckeye show last year and the year before. I know this because it is mine. Yes the base is orange and the bands have a slight purplish ting to them in my opinion. I had sold it once on the bay and it was returned because it was not purple enough so its all in the eye of the holder. I purchased it as a purple tiger several years ago and paid big dollars. It is 21/32" and does have one small flake/chip in the orange unfortunately. The adventurine is the most I have seen on any "old" marble. Don't know if this helps or not. My camera does not take the best close ups but I could try in the sunlight tomorrow (weather permitting)if it helps. Brad -
Started out wanting one for the collection and now have a couple of dozen. Hard to shoot with your thumb. Brad

For comparison purposes the large pink bennington is 13/16". The largest bennington is 1 & 13/16". Brad

Sounds right to me except can't see the mica!! If you put this marble in a glass of water you will see how thick the clear glass is around the core and this will give you the best idea if it can be polished without loosing to much of the core. Brad

Bill, I think you should just scrape off that yuki gold stuff and make a necklace or something out of it. Brad

If I list the marbles with a buy it now price then I would allow an offer. My start bids are normally my minimum price (reserve) that I am willing to let it go for. If something does not sell on Ebay then I may entertain offers on a different format ( chat board, email , etc). Then at the very least I can discount any associated fees that would have been incurred. Brad

me to please -
Due to a restructuring at work last year I am forced to sell some of my personal collection. I will be listing a few over the coming weeks so please check them out. The shipping is free and you only have to pay for the insurance. The starting price is the reserve and this may very well be less than I paid for some of these beauties. Thanks for looking. This show was a great buyers show with some rare and reasonably priced marbles for sale. I picked up a mint 2 & 1/16" slightly lobed onionskin, a mint 1 & 13/16" slightly lobed mica onionskin, a mint minus 1 & 13/16" fat solid core, a near mint 1 & 11/16" giant black clambroth, a mint 1 & 5/16" giant experimental corkscrew, many other "Claudia" corks, 2 mint 3/4" Peltier Golden Rebels along with some lutz marbles. All of these will be for sale except one golden rebel and the giant corkscrew marble. I have a son getting married this week end but next week I will probably start listing on "mibauctions" or Ebay. If anyone has a particular interest in one of these then shoot me an email with an offer or if you want more pictures just let me know. Thanks Brad

Thanks for the info, as always it is very much appreciated. I found 3 in a group purchase a while ago. Any idea on their value? I will have a couple in New Phily for sale or (my favorite) trade. Thanks Brad
