Mon and all of you, Let me apologize for my previous post, just tired of Boo Hoo crap. I see why it has been a year since I was in this forum. Mon, Sorry to say, but I will not PM you for anything. The reason, my mother taught me very well...............Don't mistreat or hit girls! Sorry
-
MON Go away, your bleeding ass is getting old and you need to move on. Get over it ! Okay, I made comments about my room too, does it bother me what Smitty said, NO! I understand that maybe Smitty wanted to visit old friends and enjoy hunting mibs too, not baby-sitting adults. You should see someone for your anger management. Maybe you need to change your hobby! Why don't you try dried turkey turd collecting or frogs hair, something that you would enjoy by yourself. See, your bad vibes are now collecting even me, kind hearted, soft spoken, tightass, cheapass, and yes even dumbass. Please as a gentleman I say this - Go Away ! If you can not post without bringing up that same old Boo Hoo Hoo stuff, don't reply. ThankYou.

Ron, What is with all that sweat.............you were digging way to hard or too fast. Hey, your counter part looks clean, I think she out smarted you You got me drooling for sure. Anytime you need help cleaning give me a call. We need to hook up at Sistersville so you can confirm or not if I am on the right track. If so, I may (not promising) may be able to talk him out of the other one. He was not going to sell but he said since I was from northern Pa, not WV he would sell it. Not sure why he feels that way, but bonus for me. But hey, you know me, it's more than likely not it! But it sure is funner that slapping a snapping turtle. I am coming down Tursday and staying until Sunday. PS Your pictures are now in the offical Alley notebook for all to see.......................If it is okay ith you?

Ron, Wow, do you think if I begged you a little bit you would bring your Alley collection to Sistersville, or maybe I could come to your place to view?????????? I still need some good training about them and I would like to take some pictures for in my book (homemade notebook folks, not professional stuff here). On my way to Sistersville, I am stopping at Morgantown, I know way out of the way, but I have seen the mib you know i am after and the guy has two of them with some other Alley's. He wants to keep them all for family reasons (they are in a box his great - great grandfather made and put the mibs in. He is willing to sell me one of the mibs, the prize jewel I have been after ( I think) you know from the Canton show I can be way off, thinking that cork was it I will bring my Alley collection for you to see, not that it would be that big ! ! ! ! ! I would also like to ask you to show me the old marble factory if you could. I want to add some pictures in my book. PS Everyone! I am trying to end this thread on a good note - friends talking mibs and moving on!

Smitty, Stop, go to your favorite tree stand and go sit in it for an hour and relax and talk to the man upstairs. Your letting all this get to you and it is changing your character, don't let it. Your worth more than all this stuff as a friend and a person. I support you 100%, I think that you should cancel the shows, then see how these people will sell, trade, find marbles. Let them go to the mid west or western shows. I will not say names, but you know who I am talking about. I am really good friends with a person who also does a big show in the North East. Last year this person too is strongly thinking about not having a show anymore. Why? Bingo, just the same reasons as you, they are stuck with all the work and it cost him cash to get it all set up (out of his pocket). Then to put up with issues.......... uhm. I think a show should be a flyer or word of mouth that if you want to come, marble people will gather at farmer Joe's field or some large parking lot (location) on (date) bring your own shit, table, chairs, tents or get a hotel, rain suits, canopy's or what ever. Attend at your own risk ! That's it no work but for who comes. Just saying

PM me, I need your street number, I have some mibs to send you. I think Hamot is still calling..... he he he. The lake is stil warm, bet you miss it.

Smitty, As you know I have backed off marbling for awhile, but I feel that I had to step back up to the plate (for now). It seems no matter what your involved in, there are only a few select people who step up and work. It also seems that it is always the same people day in and day out. I attended the show and I had a great time, saw some old friends and found some great Alleys. I do like the room dealing better as it is more one on one and you can take your time and really look at what the person has. I would suggest that you charge for room selling and if they attend the show it is no cost for the table..........If they do not set up at the show, then they paid for the right to have the access to the buyers due to your advertising. I also saw a few people hanging out at the door asking if people had marbles that they were bringing in, uhm, maybe they should have paid to sell in the room because they were selling out of their rooms and did not set up or even attend the show. I think you do a great job and you put 100% into it, you may not be rewarded now, but you will be........You are one of the people who make this fun and the reason I am still kinda into collecting. I have had some real bad moments, which is why I am no longer into it as I once was. But your still a class act person and you have earned the respect of many, THANK YOU!

I have received numerous emails asking for photos and prices of marbles that I am getting rid of (my collection). I am not selling any outright, groups are being sent to Alan Basinet (marblealan) to be sold. I am not interested in letting specific selections or groups to be sold other than that method. I have a large collection and it will take some time. Sorry, this is the best method for quick sale and it eliminates having mid grade mibs left over. I am not collecting anymore so there will be thousands of mibs being sold. John (SNYD) Snyder

Do You Need Some Htf Mibs Or Just Some Great Ones
SNYD posted a topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I have decided to no longer collect marbles and start to sell off my marble collection and travel in a new direction. It was a hard decision to make to stop collecting marbles, but the final outcome is to just do it. I have been collecting for over twenty years and have some good to great marbles (based on rarity). In the near future I will be sending MarbleAlan small lots every so often until gone, so keep checking his listings on ebay. I am sure there are mibs of interest for many of you. I have collected all makers. This is my collection, meaning all mibs are mint and only a few are near mint and a few polished mint. SNYD -
Primitive is okay, if they have showers and toilets......................don't need electric hook up, got generator. Anywhere close enough that we could attend the marble events down that way. Stayed at Paden City, okay hotel. Wells Inn, okay price little much for whats there. SNYD

Ron, Are you going sell some of those good hard to find Alley mibs I will be at the auction, if your going to be there just put them in my truck We did not make it down to dig last month, too much rain. I'll let you know if we come down over the summer. If you know of anyone that may have a small plot of land for sale, let me know. I would like to have a small lot to put my camper on when we come down. SNYD

Thanks all, I got the prices. I was not far off. The 20% added on is what stopped me. Thanks for the update. SNYD

If you could let me know what the price the Golden Rebels went for. SNYD
-
Who all gets the Prices Relized? All bidders? Do I have to contact them? SNYD
-
I left some hefty bids on several items in this auction, never heard anything, win or loose. I have been back to the listing and it still does not have any bid information. You would think they would post the actual selling price so bidders would know. If someone here reading this who knows Brian, they could let him know. You would not think an up scaled auction house would be so long getting information out. May reflect on no future bidding from here. SNYD

I don't mind the Jabos on Ebay....... If they were listed in the right place pre 1970 how do they end up there???? Come on folks. At least list them right. Southern Marbles...who is this, put your Jabos in the right section. New marbles do not belong in the pre 1970 listings. I feel better SNYD

What amount is it? Maybe if we knew, someone or a group of collectors could help. What would you be looking for as far as money? SNYD -
Ron, When it gets closer to our WV visit, I'll let you know. Not to scare you, I have a large zip lock bag almost full of marbles I purchased since I seen you last. I put each of them in their own small bag and marked them what I thought they were. I had some that I had no idea. Anyhow, I'll buy dinner, you give me marble ID and lessons. I am not sure of good dinner places in your area, so you will have to pick the place. I'll be staying in Paden City, so it's closer than NW Pa. But hey, I would drive the five and half hours to visit anytime............. SNYD

Smiles right back at you. See, your the kinda great person that this hobby brings to the forefront. I went on my first dig last year and although the mibs are not great shape, they are all in a special collection that holds a special place in my memories of fine friends and life list items made come true. Sometimes it not how much money you have, but how many fine friends you can find in life. SNYD Thanks for the winking smily mib photo

Yea, I know, but this is so much fun and meeting all the nice folks during my travels makes this a great hobby. I also enjoy the actual facts about the history of marble makers. Put it all together and it is a true enjoyment in life. I need to get down to see you, I want to photograph some of your Alley mibs. I have a personal book I am creating to aid me in my adventures.
