I am enjoying the show, Joe, and I'm interested by the ones with such well-defined two seam structure. It would be great if you could add "with Glasfirma" after KNUCKLEDOWN in your topic header just so this thread will be easier to find in the future - I'm pretty sure you can edit it.
It's a tough call, which is probably why it took so long to get a response. This is one I would like to have in hand to have more confidence in an ID, since I could imagine a couple of possibilities. But I will say that the cut-offs don't look particularly Pelty to me. What does it look like backlit? Does light pass through it?
Welcome to the Marble Connection, Tami. Lots of nice Cat's Eyes in your second pic - check the green ones in bright light (sun is best) for sparkly aventurine.
The red/brown one looks Akro to me.
A question worth asking yourself before you post for ID is, "Does this photo accurately represent what the marble looks like in hand?" Colors can be important for a proper ID and your photos are all we have to go on.
And FWIW, I think this one may be an Imperial too . . . straight on views of both seams are often necessary for proper ID.
I'm pretty sure the green one is an Imperial (Asian) but I am okay with the second from the bottom being Master (thanks for the additional pics).
And this is the red/brown I was referring to . . .
I agree that most are Master but I think that green one may be foreign and the red/brownish one might be Akro and i wonder about the second to last marble too. Straight on views of both seams would be helpful with IDs . . .
Oh wow, you've got some talent! They're all great but these are my favorites. Some of those "tracers" are killer! Do you sign them?
I thought this was an Alley - now you've got me wondering. 😉
Those are really all very nice marbles, Chris! What size are they?
I like everything about this little china - the quality of the porcelain, the unusual design, the colors, the symmetry, the condition, just a beautiful example IMO.
