@wvrons You put on a pretty great show today, Ron! The toys are especially nice.
What I find interesting is that the Paul Bunyan marbles appear in about the same mix in both the Alox and Ravenswood packaging - it seems like every bag has one of the blue on green marbles. I wonder if both companies got them from the same supplier (Master?) or if Alox might have gotten them from Ravenswood - I'm pretty sure they bought other marbles from them.
Ravenswoods are always good! Those little jars are so neat - and so fragile. I'm surprised they held together in the dirt all those years and that you were able to recover them in one piece. I imagine they must have had a lid at one time, or maybe a cork. Have you ever seen one with a cover?
That's a crazy cool mib. I would like to see where that multi-color ribbon ends. In other words, pic 2 as the ribbon goes up over the top - what does the end look like?
@Kimbernugs Most, if not all (kind of hard to tell on the top ones), of yours are six ribbon Rainbos, which are considerably less common than the four ribbon types.
That's a nice bunch of marbles, Joep. That hand gathered slag and the big red opaque are the ones that first catch my eye but there are a bunch of good ones in there!
If the base is blue there is little doubt the other colors are off too. My guess on this one is Alley. But it's really important that the photos look like the marble in hand for a proper ID. The focus looks pretty good but I am not sure what might be causing your color issues. Maybe someone else will be able to offer some tips for correcting it.
That bunch must've been collected over a whole bunch of creek walks! There is everything from soup to nuts with production spanning many years. I'm sort of surprised he's found so many.
To me, it looks like there might be a mixture from a couple of the JABO Joker runs. And some of them, including the smaller pinkish ones look like JABO Classics to me.
