  1. Like Art said, it's a Contract Run JABO - not sure which run though. I think most of those marbles were 3/4" like yours, but there were some 5/8" - mostly tank washes, I think.
  2. Here's a pic - not a great one, but it was handy. 🙂 And there is a variant referred to as a "Dark Inky" too.
  3. There is no question it's a Champion marble . . .
  4. Learning before spending is definitely the wise thing to do. Typical Conquerors are likely the most common vintage Vitro marble - they mad oodles of them. I like the ones that get wild with the shape of the patch and the distribution of the white color - they can get really cool looking.
  5. You got the ID right as far as I can tell and the stand is very nice too!
  6. Thanks again, Al. One notable difference between the bag I posted and the ones you show is the crown logo on mine (I don't doubt you have a similar bag too). I guess we'll have to wait for Gerald's book to learn more about when that logo first appeared.
  7. I poked around a bit and found these. They're the closest thing I have seen . . . I think the pic will link to the site.
  8. Welcome to the Marble Connection, you came to the right place. This looks like a common game marble - a "purie" or "clearie" that has a bit of UV-reactive glass mixed in. Marbles like this were made by the boxcar load and almost every manufacturer made them, and without any significant identifying features, which I don't see here, it is pretty much impossible to tell one manufacturer from another.
  9. Another good snag, Joep. Happy New Year!
  10. I was wondering the same thing. I really have no idea but they remind me of beads. I wonder if they were harvested from a bead-making process.

    More pelts?

No doubt. Check out the opalescent base glass on the second Marble - it wasn't call it the Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company for nothing. 🙂

    More pelts?

Kokomo bought one of Peltier's machines, and probably got some advice about setting up tanks and rollers to make marbles, and then made marbles for just a few years before getting out of the business. Compared to Pelitier marbles they are very few and far between.
  13. No, an inky is an ink-looking blue color on a muddy translucent base glass. I'll see if I can find a pic and post it in a bit.
  14. That is a Vitro Tri Lite - a pretty one, for sure.
  15. When the white striping glass dips below the surface of the transparent colored base glass it can appear to be colored, which color depends on the base glass and how far beneath the surface the white striping glass is.
  16. I think Ron is referring to: The World of Cat's Eye Marbles by Elizabeth A. Kempski (2020)
  17. Yes, we call them Jorkscrews, the quality of the spiral varies condiderably.

    Lime aid?

Yes, A Lime Ade - one of several types Akro marketed as Moss Agates.
  19. That's a nice selection of styles, Al. Thanks for posting them. Is the insert on the second one "Rules of the Game"?
  20. I'm reevaluating the middle one. I don't think it's Vitro. Looks a lot like Akro Lifesaver colors and given the Liberty (looks dug) next to it, I think there is a good chance it's just a weird (likely dug) one.

    Randoms

I think it's more likely an oddly-structured Akro patch, although, it could be an oddly-structured "lazy" Akro Corkscrew. Might be best just to say it's an Akro. 🙂
  22. Nice snag, Joep. The pin-wheel design on the poles is attractive.
  23. That's some good information and a great comparison photo - thanks for posting it, Jeff!
